Sometimes windows update install all the controllers by itself. Update your windows at control panel/security and../windows update. If the problem isn't fixed go to dell web page, and search the controllers by model.
I suggest use GomPlayer or VLC player. Accept all the video codecs.
Use a driver finder tool to download video controller drivers. Also scan your PC with a system utility tool like Reginout to fix wndows registry and missing dll files. After fixing errors install drivers. Its recommended to scan for registry errors because sometimes dislplay drivers are not working fine.
Well you are not suppose to fix a broken controller then always buy a new controller so the consoles controller ports might be have problems reading the controller so buy a new controller to see if it makes a difference then.
You probably need a new controller. I've had the same issue with a few of my xbox controllers, but I'm sorry to tell you that you can't really fix it without potentially destroying it entirely.
You could have a video controller problem or a LCD screen problem, what you are seeing is the backlighting but no video information.
To check if you have a video problem, connect an external monitor to your laptop and bootup your laptop, if you see Windows booting up the external monitor then the video controller is OK, and your problem is the LCD screen or the video cable connection on the motherboard (may need reseating).
If you cannot fix the LCD screen then use your laptop with an external monitor.
The display is very soft and dull in my labtop (toshiba-satellite A135-S2386) . I changed Vista and keep XP operating system, I am not able to install video controller, ethernet controller, etc I need the driver for the same
To permanently fix the problem you have to send the unit to a programmer. A quick fix would be is to physically do it in your TV. While your Direct TV satellite receiver is ON, press the "TV/Video" or "Source" or "Input" button in your TV until the video will appear in the TV screen. All the TV has either one of this button.
