I do have the Asus X50GL series laptop, that it is still working fine and I am going to reach the highest limits for the CPU & the RAM upgrade! The laptop specs is: Asus X50GL series Asus F5 Entertrainment system Motherboard: Manufacturer ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Model F5GL Socket 478 Version 1.0 Chipset Vendor NVIDIA Chipset Model ID0A83 Chipset Revision B1 Southbridge Vendor NVIDIA Southbridge Model nForce 730i Southbridge Revision B2 BIOS Brand American Megatrends Inc. Can anyone has a previous experience or can help giving a certain/safe opinion??? As a wish I would use the Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 2.4 GHz Dual-Core FF80577GG0563M!!! Is this compatible??? Othrwise what is the best fit fr this laptop??? Thanks in advance...
CPU upgraded sucesfully on X50gl BIOS 222 from T3200 to a T9550. (59% faster !!). CPU available at alliexpress. Change process showed on some videos on youtube.
Changing chips most time requires a mother board up date to cater for the extra chip pins
best advice here is to take it to a computer repair shop and they will be able to tell you right off if what you want to do is possible with that board
point of interest here
chips are only as fast as the hard drive and rams will work
if your unit has a disc type hard drive consider upgrading that to a solid state hard drive which handles data much much faster than a disc type
just a bit of info when you are talking to the computer geek
Testimonial: "This guy (Bill Boyd) is answering to every topic and every question like a "scientific specialist" to ALL OF THE THINGS on the planet!!! Sorry but I don't need his advices!!!"
@ Bill Boyd
The best you have to do Bill Boyd is to shut up an do not pop-up like a useless advisor!!!
Keep your advices for your self!!!
If you have not a specific answer to my SPECIFIC QUESTION just keep silent!!!
I already have upgraded the RAM @ 4 GB and the system disk is already an SSD!!!
So stop name your self as a "computer geek"!!!

hey you rather ignorant person
read your rather rambling statement and advise me of where you state that you a sshd in your useless computer and I did say --take it to a computer shop
and if you are so intelligent and know everything about me and that my advice is all wrong, answer this
why did you ask such a unintelligent question in the first place if you know all about the subject.
Did you just set out to "bait" to get a reply or are you just so vindictive and shallow
Yes people do ask questions and most ask because they need reassurance that what they are thinking is the right action and yes I do try to help with advice and yes I do have a lot of experience with life and equipment and yes I do occasionally meet people like yourself but Having helped some 2,600,000 people in one way or another on this site I am now advising you that your opinion of me accounts for ZIP so button you dead brain and be thankful that some one answered you rather unintelligent ramblings
it what other people who really need help thinks that matters

If you still need an answer, today I have changed the T3200 mounted on my X50gl for a T9550 bought at alliexpress for less than 7€. Regards.
