SOURCE: soap not being used

We learned from our new Duet that when washing with Tide soap powder, there is an adjustment inside the pull out drawer where the soap powder goes. You will see a grey plastic slider that goes to the right for liquid soap & to the left for powder soap.
Moving this slider to the left corrected this problem - not using all of the soap powder needed - for us.
Good luck !

SOURCE: Did I ruin the Whirlpool

No, this does not damage the machine. Soap goes in the dispenser to provide a better circulation / distribution of the soap than pouring it directly into the machine.

Removing soap dispenser in cabrio washer

Which model Whirlpool Cabrio washer do you have? For the WTW8000DW, you need to pull the dispenser tray forward until you feel resistance. Then push down on the one tab (between the fabric softener compartment and the detergent compartment) near the back of the dispenser. Continue to pull the dispenser tray forward. (Hold the tab down at least to start pulling the tray further forward.)

The manual for the WTW8000DW is available on the product support page: https://www.whirlpool.com/laundry/washers/top-load/p.5.3-cu.ft-he-top-load-washer-with-adaptive-wash-technology,-intuitive-touch-controls.wtw8000dw.html . Scroll down or use the link to the Manuals & Guides section. The direct link to the Use & Care Guide is currently: https://www.whirlpool.com/content/dam/global/documents/201504/owners-manual-W10607424-RevB.pdf . See page 14 of the manual for the pictures to go with removing the dispenser for cleaning on this model.

I hope this helps. For the manuals for other Whirlpool washers, use the search feature at https://www.whirlpool.com/services/manuals.html .

How do I fix a whirlpool model number WFW9050XW00 soap dispenser overflowing water and not going into the tub?

Whirlpool WFW9050XW01 Use Care Manual Page 12

Sounds like the line between the soap dispenser and the tub is clogged. If you look at page 12 of the link I provided, it will show you how to remove the dispenser tray. Check, with a flash light and see if there is any obstruction. You can use a small flexible plastic snake to clear any obstruction.

Good luck.

Did I ruin the Whirlpool Cabrio washer if Iput the soap directly on the clothes rather than the soap dispenser. I did this one time and am worried I may have ruined the machine

No, this does not damage the machine. Soap goes in the dispenser to provide a better circulation / distribution of the soap than pouring it directly into the machine.

Fabric softener not dispensing

Fabric softner trays often clog up, because a little soap powder in the tray by accident tends to block it. If you pull the soap tray out as far as it will go, you will see that there is a bit of the tray right at the back, probably on the left with an arrow or thumb print or indentation in it. If you press down on this it is a catch and it will allow you to remove the tray from the machine completely. Once out of the machine, the fabric softner cover will also lift out. Clean everything throroughly (Tak it outside and turn your garden hose full pressure on all the holes on the tray and then scrub it out with a toothbrush. Put the fabric softner tray mabc in and slide the soap tray back in the machine. This should have fixed it.
