To use Siri, simply hold your thumb or finger down on the power button. You will hear a double tone when it is open. For Siri settings, go to Settings, General, then check for Siri either in the left hand menu (IOS 10) or on the right side menu.

Siri troubleshooting: Siri's not working at all on my device. Which iPhone/iPad models can run Siri? If Siri isn't working for you, the first thing to check is your model of iPad or iPhone - older devices can't run Siri, even if they update to a newer version of iOS. Siri is available on the iPhone 4s and later, on the iPad 3, iPad 4, and all iPad Pro, iPadAir and iPad mini models, and on the 5th- and 6th-gen iPod touch models. Plus the Apple Watch and 4th-gen Apple TV, of course Siri troubleshooting: How to turn Siri on If it's not working at all, Siri might be switched off. Go to Settings > General > Siri and make sure the top slider (next to Siri) is on, and green.

Is Siri not on the original iPad?

Siri is not on the original iPad, because apple only put it on the iPad 3 gen and up. Most likely due to the face they want you to purchase a newer iPad, so they can make more money, more information can be found here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siri

How to get siri on ipad2 ios 8.1.2

How to configure Siri
  1. Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap on General.
  3. Tap on Siri.
  4. Tap on Language to change languages and dialects.
  5. Tap on Voice Feedback to choose whether Siri always talks back to you, or only when in Handsfree mode.
  6. Tap **My Info* to select your Contact card so Siri knows who you are, what your numbers are, and what your locations are. This lets you say things like "Call home." or "Give me directions to work."
  7. Toggle Raise to Speak to have Siri pop up whenever you bring your iPhone to your ear, and you're not on a call. This may drain your battery faster than if it were disabled.

How do I disable Siri, please on my iPad. I have follows the usual steps that do not work. A black outline box circles all commands, so Siri refuses to run off.

Restore it by holding down home key and top button until apple returns to screen. If that doesn't work back it up and restore it as new. Don't turn spotlight or Siri settings on ever, wastes data and tracks your cell

How do I make Siri listen...now, Siri says "sorry, I didn't get that. No chance to ask the question.

Try using it in a quiet place without a lot of background noise or loud music playing, and don't clear your throat or cough, etc. before speaking, just start right in.
