many brushes are generic as manufacturers seldom make their own and brushes can be shaped to suit

I have a Rockworth Powertask which appears to have the same problem when exposing the drive gears the spline drive gear had been completely shredded together with a ball bearing race the driver gear was intact & the secondary drive gear would appear to have destroyed the drive gear - suggest repair
Temporary solution for hard to find brushes as follows. Several online part stores will list the size of their carbon brushs such as www.toolfix.com and some True Value stores stock them as well. Buy a set that is sightly larger than yours and sand with fine paper to fit. The spring and end piece can be reused, cut the braided wire and solder old endpiece to new brush. enjoy
