Try restting it by unplugging the tv for a few mins and it should rest to original factory default settings but leave it unplugged 10-15 mins to be sure.
If you switch your tv of at the plug the software cant do the updates. Leave the tv in standby over night and that should work. If you do leave it on standby but still losing channels contact goodmans as you may need an update of the software

Hi ya I had the same problem just today with my Goodmans GTVL26W8HD TV I was at it all day trying to get it to turn on. It was like it was stuck in stand by mode, Until my partner opened it up and unplugged the control panel at the top of the TV ( The manual control buttons ) now it works via the remote control . He does stress however thats its extreamly dangeroue to mess with TV;s as the electrical current in a TV even when unplugged can Kill , So if you don't know what your doing leave well alone and get someone who does know what they are doing to do it for you Good Luck :-)
maybe theres a defect in in the board of your tv, theres a defective parts inside. maybe it is shorted. causing not to osolate. just look a qualified technician to fix your problem.
You Need a new Power Supply, part # LJ44-00025A
buy it here for $139 http://www.adc-ast.com/
I have my tv working like new.
If you want this time the power supply last, do not turn off, just
press tv/video button to switch input source, let the tv in sleep mode.
The TV is in protection mode because of a fault with moving it and then coming on briefly I would suspect that the fault is a dry joint ( a solder joint which has fractured) finding it can be time consuming but it is most likely to be around the caps in the line output stage which need resoldering.
