water leak from cold hose nothing to do with other problem. tighten hose connection and fit a new hose washer overfilling probably because air chamber blocked. remove lid. you will see a pressurestat somewhere at the top - usually round with anything from 3 to 7 wires and a small tube underneath. follow hose down and it connects to the air chamber. make sure this is free of gung and check hose for splits and has no blockage. to check the pressure stat itself, attach your own hose to the stat and while machine in fill mode, blow down this hose and you should hear a click and water intake will stop

Kenmore HE2plus not getting cold water. Tap on and water in hose, washer just will not wash with cold water.

Hello, Your unit is not getting cold water most likely due to the water inlet valve. There are two to three screws located on the rear top that secure the cover to the unit. If you unscrew these screws and then slide the top panel towards the rear of the machine and remove the top cover off the unit this would give you access to the water inlet valve. Assure also that there is no debris where the hose connects into the back of the water inlet valve on the cold side. Sometimes calcified water can leave deposits in the valve preventing water from flowing into the machine. Here is a video of how to test a water inlet valve in a top load washer the test is very much the same the units are different though click this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Zc6NCTAF1U if you have any further questions message me back and please remember when our chat has fully concluded to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations. How do I fix a hoover 550m washing machine not is not pumping water to drain out and empty the wash bowl. Everything else works fine

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry but I do not know your particular machine BUT I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters. The motor is unable to drain all of the water in the allotted time.
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is normally behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

Hoover 550M washing machine - taking ages to fill, water is just dribbling out. Was fine when started, lifted lid to put in clothes and now only dribbling out. Water pressure in rest of house seems to be...

Check the inlet screen on the hose connection on the back of the machine. This may be clogged with debris, also make sure you hose is not crimped. You can unhook the inlet hose and put it in a bucket and turn it on to see how much water is actuall coming thru that hose. I suspect some type of blockage in the inlet.

Hoover 200m 4.5kg washing machine will not use cold water to wash. How do I switch it to cold water wash?

You can fix one of two ways.
1/ replace the cold water solenoid valve
This is located directly behind the cold water hose fitting
at the top of the machine
Remove the small electrical control panel by removing the
three small screws.

2/ If you only need the cold wash program you can save
money by swapping the vaves around. They are easy to
remove and they are held in place by a plastic insert which
lifts up to remove them .

Make absolutely sure that your Machine is disconnected from the mains supply before you replace these valves

Maytag top loading washer

turn tap on---- sorry I thought it Funny

water flow is controlled by solenoid valves attached to inside rear wall of washer.
usually cold water fails first by the most use.
they are simple to replace, can be ordered from local store by model number or by pulling the old one off and taking it in, everybody has them, mnaytag fitsd kenmore fits whirlpool fits just about all.

If only the cold water solenoid has failed, to get the washer going, for use (the result will be cold water wash only)

open the rear panel
locate the 2 solenoid valves, trace the water lines in to the first !+~3inch diameter electrical gadgets, those gadgets are the solenoids.
swap the power cables between the solenoids
put the back -back on
swap the hose connections on the taps
now the burned out solenoid is in the hot water line, and cold water is available for wash and rinse.
If you buy a replacement solenoid then swap cables and hose back. but second solenoid will proobably last as long as first did as long as you dont mind cold water only

Problem with Hoover 200M

Hi All
The solution is a faulty solenoid valve, either the hot or cold valve depending what temperature you are using.
Replacing the valve is easy turnoff machine unscrew hose, remove 3 srcews to lift control cover, slide out locking tab, unclip wires the replace valve which cost about 30-$40
