I cant get a picture only sound not sure its in the right plug?

if your tv and dvd player are good yes might be you have a wrong connection. this is how a proper connection between your tv and dvd player.
  1. first step in connecting a dvd player to a tv unit is determined what kind of connection you want to make, this usually determined to the outputs and inputs available on the dvd player and tv unit.
  2. if you are using a plasma or a lcd tv usually the inputs are: composite inputs- lets you connect a component source like a dvd, vcr, and laser disc. component inputs - lets you connect another component source such as a dvd player. DVI-HDTV - lets you connect an HD receiver with a DVI output.
  3. for example if you select the composite input what you need is a RCA plug which usually a 3 color plug.this picture is an example of commercial rca plug which usually the color yellow use for video and the red and white color for audio.vinceisaac.jpg.
  4. this is how you will connect those wire into your dvd player and tv unit.look for the component output jack of your dvd player .this picture is a sample of component output jack the color may vary depending tovinceisaac_0.jpgkind of brand or dvd player do you have.
  5. now get your RCA plug then the yellow plug insert it to the Y or video out the red and white plug insert it to the left and right AUDIO out of your dvd player.
  6. now look for the composite inputs jack of your TV unit then get the other end of RCA plug. the yellow plug must be insert it to the V label for video the red and white plug into L/R label which mean for audio input.
  7. after you connect the 3 wires re check all the connections make sure the RCA plug is good and properly inserted to avoid loose contact which can affect the picture and sound quality.
  8. now turn on your dvd player and tv unit.
  9. make sure your tv unit is set to right input you want to use like for example you are using the video 1 input, you need to set to the remote controller into video 1 so that your dvd player must be recognized by your tv. enjoy watching i hope it will help you thanks for choosing fixya as your solution to fix you problem good luck.

I want to hook my bose wave up so that I when I play my dvd player and tv the sound goes through the bose

Most Bose Wave players only have one set of input jacks. SO, you have 2 sources (the TV and the DVD) that you want to use. Well, you can plug in the one you want or buy a 2-way switch. You plug both sources into the switch and the output goes to the Bose. You hit AUX on the Bose or remote and you've got it. A local Radio Shack type place should be able to fix you up. Just tell them you need to connect 2 sources to one input - I'm assuming all have what are called RCA connectors on the sources - I know the Bose has them.

(Bose lifestyle 28) DVD picture is distorted, shadowy and difficult to discern

Try the settings setup and adjust the brightness, video format, or video black level. If you're using component connections then adjust the video output. You can scroll system setup through the remote control settings button.

Plasma Television Connection

hmm a bit...complicated but if they all use HDMI then one cord is all you need going to the tv from the bose sound system while any other HDMI connection should directly go into the bose sound system or if the dvd player uses RCA then RCA sound should go to the sound system and video directly to the tv

Non bose dvd player for bose system

In short, you can. I did it last night. My Bose 321 DVD player is junk and it's always been junk, but I love the sound sytem. Last night, after the thing gobbled it's last DVD, I went through the whole, unplug, wait 5 minutes, plug back in, etc. and it still wouldn't eject so I ripped the DVD tray out of the thing with a pair of pliers, recovered my DVD, and slammed the tray back in, stripping all the gears and screwing up the motor in the process.
BUT, I disconnected the video cable from my Bose and plugged it into the video out on my el-cheapo Tru-Tech $99 DVD recorder. Then I ran the audio out cables from the Tru-Tech to the Aux 1 inputs on my Bose 321.
When I want to watch a DVD now, I put the DVD in my Tru-Tech, turn on the Bose, switch it to Aux 1, and I get a great picture and the Bose sound. Best of all, I don't have to plug and unplug that sorry Bose system everytime the wind blows.
They used the absolute cheapest DVD player they could get their hands on--a Toshiba model--for all the Bose 321 older models. Every single person who bought one has had these same troubles and they've made no offer to fix them.
This was my first and last Bose because of that and I hope more people stay away from Bose until they get their act together and protect their customers. $1000 for a system that eats DVDs like M&M's is ridiculous.
