There should be a small connector piece inside the housing that has a square end on it for the speedo cable to insert into on the t-case side. If this is missing/broken, the cable will not turn. You may also have a broken gear internally on the drive assembly. Remove the bolt holding the drive into the t-case and remove speedo gear for inspection
To remove the outer handle, open the door and while looking at the edge of the door with it open, you should be looking at the side that the door latch lever is on, look near the top area and you should see a small black plastic oval piece. Remove that piece. Take a flash light and look inside the hole. There will be a brass lever inside with a small hole. Use a pick and insert in the brass slide. If you either push or pull the lever to or away, it will release the outer handle assembly. The assembly levers upwards when removing.
Some cars have tie rods and some have tie rod ends. If you have tie rods, one piece, you just replace the piece, the toe in , toe out is adj some place else. On a car with tie rod ends, you just replace the end, They are a bit tricky to get out, 2 small sledge hammers and bang on the ball at the same time will pop it out of it's socket, then count the number on turns to take it out, then count he turns going back in, and put the nut on, clamp it up, and it should be just like new. Hope this helps.
IT might be either in the boot on top of tank OR on the rear of tank,
If on rear then drain at least 1/2 the tank out before undoing the clip ring which turns to the l/h/ to undo use a small piece of copper or brass or even good piece of timber but not steel ..
Undo and take out pump and filter To check pump wipe clean and dry and let it dry out for about 1/2 hr before fitting battery power to it for checking and if dont sound good straight away or the filter is dirty then new one is the answer..
REPLACE IT in the reverse of removal and make sure that the petrol pipes are fitted tight.
When you take the pipes off the back of pump then fit something in pipes to stop the loss of petrol .
[Removing/Repairing Gas
Filler Door Hinge: Tip from Bill Peyton] The gas door hinge will
break if pushed forward. This is usually done by moving around the car
with the door open, or by curious children. The repair job can be done
completely from the exterior. The black plastic hinge is
held in place by four plastic rods. When pushed through the body of the
car, they expand four rubber sleeves located on the interior, thereby holding
the whole thing in place. Remove as follows: Open the door, and using a small
punch, push the four plastic rods through to the interior of the car. The
door will now come out. Note the position of the spring and the
hinge. Remove the spring from the old hinge, and either cut or pry our
the old hinge. This is a black plastic piece. The ends of the new hinge are
tapered to make it easier to insert into the gas door. Clip the spring
back into place. Now for the hard part. You will see on the new hinge
four plastic rods. These are held onto the hinge by four small
connections, all molded into a single piece. On the other side of the
hinge are four plastic “flowers” split into four pieces. You will need to
push the plastic rods through the “flowers”, once the “flowers” are pushed
through to the interior of the car. Since the rods are not free
floating, they tend to break off and fly away unless you hit them
squarely. If this happens, put a little taper in the ends, place them
back in the hold, and push them through. A punch and a hammer will be
essential. Alternatively, you can break the rods off while the piece is
off the car, insert them manually, and drive them in again with the punch.
