Never knew they could do that. Is it fully charged? You could try a "hard restart" on it. Hold down the power button(may take 20 seconds or so), Screen should go black, maybe flash a few times, when it comes back to the "Boy under tree" logo let the button go and let it finish what it's doing. It should work after that but if not it's time to call help desk. Amazon.com, your acct and click manage your kindle. help desk will be at bottom of the list on the left on screen.
