No component video output.

Unknown button(s) pressed on remote (kids!), resulting in no component video output (monitor). S-video output (monitor) is working correctly for both DVD and cable settop box with S-video inputs. No up-convert from S-video inputs to Component video out.
Is it possible the Conponent video section died and the random furious button pushing had nothing to do with the malfunction?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi my kid accidentally pressed a unknown button on the while we were watching movies on USB port and the key lock is on while the TV is on USB port and there is no remote, key

Try doing a hard reset by removing the USB drive. Switch the off the TV and remove the power cable from the power outlet. Let it sit for an hour or longer. Then plug it in and turn the TV on without the USB drive. If not OK you need to unlock a "child lock" using the remote.

Hi, I've a small problem cocerning this dv-363 player. I accidentally set it to 'progressive'. Now I cannot undo. I tried holding the buttons on remote and on machine itself, still not working, can you...

Progressive Scan is a menu option relating to video output of this player. Assuming you have the original DVD remote, this should be easy.

* From the user manual (pages 50-51 of the pdf document):

About progressive scan video
Compared to interlace video, progressive
scan video effectively doubles the scanning
rate of the picture, resulting in a very stable,
flicker-free image. Progressive scan video is
available only from the component video
output.

If you connect a TV that is not compatible
with a progressive scan signal and switch
the player to progressive, you will not be
able to see any picture at all. In this case,
switch everything off and reconnect using
the supplied video cable (see Easy
connections on page 14), then switch
back to Interlace. Switch the player to
standby then, using the front panel
controls, press STANDBY/ON while
pressing 'back to Interlace.

Hold these 2 buttons together for about 10-15 seconds or so, but only while the player is in standby mode. *

If you have lost the manual, you may be able to download the user guide (as an adobe reader (pdf) document) from:

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Pioneer-DV-363-K-DVD-Players-manual/id/385bh937/t/2/

(it will ask you for an email address prior to downloading - use a blank address if possible and enter the security code in the fields then save the document)

If the above suggestion does not switch it back to interlace, you will need a TV with progressive scan function to enable you to access the player's on-screen menu and in 'Initial Settings' 'Video Output' 'Component Out' section, select 'Interlace'. and press OK from remote as required.

Either way, it should NOT require a workshop service, and is simple enough to do at consumer level with the right TV type.

I want to set up my dav-fr10w to 'interlace' option so i can play the dvd's on my tv, but it's set to 'progressive' right now and the instruction manual doesn't give the specific information to change it....

Hi,
To cancel Progressive scan output or to change output to interlace signal format, follow these steps..

1- Select DVD by pressing Function button on unit.
2- While holding down |<< (review) button, press Function button on unit.

This will change output signal to interlace/ composite video output from yellow pin/ S-Video.
Hope this info will help you.
Thanks.

LOST REMOTE CODES AND INSTRUCTIONS.

  • I don't have the manual but here is how to reprogram the remote without the codes.
  • RCA Universal Remote Control
  • Step1Turn on the component you want to program. Step2Press and release the component button on your remote that corresponds to the component you want the remote to operate (TV, VCR, etc.). The illuminated ON-OFF button will turn on and remain on. Step3Press both the component and the ON-OFF buttons. The illuminated ON-OFF button will turn off, and then will come back on. Step4Release both buttons after the ON-OFF button turns back on. The button should remain illuminated. Step5Press and release the PLAY button. If the component does not respond after five seconds, continue to press the PLAY button every five seconds until the component turns off. Step6Press and release the REVERSE button when the component turns off, then wait to see if the component turns on again. Step7Press and release the STOP button to save the new code.

    No component video output

    Hope this helps

The Yamaha HTR-6030 offers two types of video monitor output: Component and Composite. You may need to connect both types to your television as the HTR-6030 does not have composite to component video conversion. In other words, to view your VCR on your TV, you need to use the composite video monitor connection. However, for a DVD player or other source that has component video connections, use the component video monitor output to your TV. If your TV has both types, you simply switch between the two with your TV remote to access the proper video monitor output signal from the HTR-6030.

    Unresponsive remote

Had same problem with this reciever over the weekend. I had to hook up a TV to the COMPOSITE monitor jack and then I could see the menus. I could never get it to show the menu over the component outputs, however a DVD player hooked up played perfectly. Anyone have a solution?
