SOURCE: my sennheiser headpahone is not working
I had that problem before. I thought something was bent. Actually all you have to do is make sure the headphone are pushed all the way up on both sides.

I had the same problem when I plugged it into a new HDTV. The problem was that the sound on the TV was set too low. The transmitter has a feature that automatically turns off when the signal is off or too low. Try turning up the TV volume to a high/higher level and it should solve your problem. Using the headphone jack with the white input allows you to use the headphones while bypassing the TV speakers.

Mine is a bit older (2yrs), but I have exactly the same problem. Absolutely no sound from the headphones (no beeps). I also tried new batteries, but still nothing.
If you have a solution, let me know!

Although I'm not an expert I'm not quite sure if armadillopic is right. I had the exact same problem and managed to overcome it by replacing the cable from the headphone to the mini-jack plug. I actually only had to renew the last bit of the cable but chose to replace the entire cable. I found out that when I bend the last part of the cable in the exact right position the strange high pitched sound that was going over the vocals went away and the vocals became much louder and clearer like they normally did. Perhaps you can try if this works for you as well? Just bend the last end of the cable in various kinds of positions (NOT TO EXTREME OR YOU WILL ONLY DAMAGE THE CABLE MORE!). Hope you are able to narrow down the problem to just the cable. Greetings!
