I have to reset my datamax i4208 every time I print. I cannot do more than one print job at a time. Help.

I have a datamax I4208, every time I send a print job through, it prints. Once I try to send another job through, it will not print and I have to reset the printer. Once I reset the printer, I have to send another job in just to get it to print. How can I fix this?

I need more information. What system are you using to drive the printer with? If it is a Windows computer it is almost certain to be a faulty/outdated driver.

How can i send an ascii file to a network shared Datamax Prodigy Plus printer? It is not printing via send file, windows driver send command to printer works. Thanks for any help!

copy file.txt lpt1 is the command to copy the txt file to the printer, but it must be correctly formatted for the Datamax. I don't know Datamax's programming language, but at first glance that file looks like ZPL to me. If it is ZPL the Datamax can't print it.

I am using Bartender software and a I4208 printer. It won't print on the first 1/10th inch of a 1inch x 4inch label. It also won't present after printing. Any help would be great. This printer is set up as...

In Seagull driver/Bartender software, Present Distance may be called Tear Off and can be adjusted after checking Post-Print actions in Document Properties, Stock tab. Standard setting is 0.40 inches.
On the same tab, right below that, is "Top Offset", and that adjustment may get you the lower Start of Print you want. Ok to try negative number here.

Datamax I 4208 prints slow when set to landscape

try using a seagull sceintific driver.
also if you are sending graphics (barcode) instead of an actual barcode decoded font, the printer will process as a graphic.
If serial, speed up to max, if parallel it should print quite fast

Image files won't print only name no image

I can help you with this. Please let me know what method you are using to send images (software, dmxconfig, dpl..) and also the type of image (bitmap, jpeg, pcx,etc..). With Datamax printers, 4 types of image can be used: bitmap, pcx, img, and 7bit datamax image file. Another thing to know is that the image must be a black & white, monochrome image. You can use a program like microsoft photo editor to make this change. You can use DmxConfig, Utilities.exe, & DPL (datamax programming language) to load image to printer. Let me know the answers to my above questions to proceed with solution.

Datamax I-4208 Cutter Fault

if the cutter cycles on start up up?
if not, check connector(RJ45) underneath platen assy.
I connected the I class should immediately recognize the cutter.
If it does not cut ever, check you format to see if the cutter is turned on in the driver.
I have seen some failures from wear on the bell crank that cycles the cutter.

Datamax I4208

position fault is normally a problem with either the formatting or the printer is not calibrated correctly.
Hold the feed button down until at least 3 labels pass by the sensor.
Also check to see the sensor is directly over the die cut on the label if more than 1 up label

Allegro2 Print Too Slow (25 seconds send from Windows XP)

miaharoon: Printing via Windows driver it's too long time because the driver sent a lot data to printer. Also the print speed via serial port it's slow. Inside driver, install Datamax printer fonts and barcode fonts to use it in Windows programs.
