I have a Whirlpool estate washer...it fills, agitates..but the spin cycle does not work. The timer has been sounding kind of odd the last couple of weeks. Could this be my problem?

I have the same problem with my whirlpool washer. It is five years old! I was told it was the basket drive and transmission that is going. It will cost $275 to fix. Paid $379 for it. What a piece of ****! Will never buy whirlpool again. It was my 1st one. I had always bought GE prior.

Whirlpool Estate washer won't agitate or spin. Makes hum'g noise like motor on but won't turn. Last couple times i used it made a ticking noise but still worked fine. Then nothing. Any advice? =)

Did you just do a rug or a comforter in that washer? if so you may have broken the drive coupling. Check out these repair photos with manuals and vids.

Not sure if manifold is leaking

Leaks water...check the pump first. The fill valve and hoses may be the next step. See how to take apart info. With the use of plastic drain hoses on many machines today, this has become a common leak trouble maker. The drain hose can rub the wall or a pipe and this will rub a hole in the drain hose.

Roper RAL6245AW0 Washer Won't Drain or Spin

We have a Kelvinator Washing Machine that just won't drain , but fills , agitates , & spins just fine. What shall we do?

Estate by Whirlpool washing machine will not drain or go into spin mode in any cycle.

I would try and check voltage at the overload on the motor

when in spin cycle and see if you have power there..

that should tell ya if your at least getting power from the timmer or not in the spin cycle to the motor

Washer clothes

Does the washer fill normally and just stop? Or, does the washer fill, go through a complete cycle, and just won't drain? There could be a couple of problems that cause a no drain issue. 1. FILL NORMALLY & STOPS, WILL NOT SPIN - This is usually a bad lid switch. If you open and close the lid, you should hear a "click", indicating the switch is working. 2. FILL NORMALLY, AGITATES, WILL NOT DRAIN - This could be a clogged drain pump, pinched hose, clogged rain line. Also, you need to make sure timer is advancing properly. If the timer never advances, the washer will fill, but won't go into agitate or spin. Let me know if this is helpful.
