Thanks. That catcher only works if you have a part to hook it to. Anyway, I actually ordered the supposed correct part from Big Warehouse Spares and annoyingly it doesn't fit. Even though I have that exact brand of machine. I have told the company but they continue to list the part. Part at fault is

l spoke to a repairman and he told me that it is probably a soap build up from only using cold water.....he suggested using sugar soap and hot water and let it soak for a few hours and then let it finish a cycle...and surprise surprise it worked, the lint trap is now working and the smell has gone

Put 3 cups of sugar Soap concentrate in machine and fill. Leave 24 hrs and run a wash cycle without clothes.
If this fails....only option is complete strip and clean of innards of the machine,

Hi just read your posting.It should be in the center of the agitator.Pull the center out and there should be a lint bag attached to it.Unfortunately they do not stop much lint from getting on the clothes.Hope this helps and please reply if you need more help.

Or follow the instructions below
Turn of the power at the power point and disconect cord.
Turn of water supply to the machine.
Disconnect the water hoses
Unscrew the screws on the rear cover and remove
Use a screwdriver to press in the inlet valves plastic locking clip
Pull the inlet valves upwards and disconnect spring clip electrical terminals
Push in new inlet valves and connect spring clip electrical terminals
Reinstall plastic locking clips
Reinstall rear cover and reinstall screws
Reinstall water hoses and turn water on
Reconnect power cord and switch power on
