The typewriter is set in P.S. mode instead of 10 or 12. This switch is in lower left corner of keyboard.

check you type wheel ,and clean your optical reader ,optical reder read`s your typewheel and because of some dirt sometimes printer moves a type wheel one step forward and you get a II.

Check to see if the pitch is in proportional space (PS) this will select wring letters.

Hi. Do you mean "wrong position" like pressing letter "J" produce a different letter or produce a number? Is it consistent like pressing letter "J" always produce the same wrong letter or number or is it randomly producing different letters every time you pressed the same key?
