Gage cluster issue, could be a bus ground issue too. These are not easy to fix and usually you send the cluster out to a third party shop to be checked and rebuilt.

Check Charging System lite comes on. New battery, system tests good. Gage needle varies + to _. Turn ignition off, restart no system lite. What could cause this problem?

Hello and have you tested the voltage at the battery with a voltmeter should be right around 13.5 to 14.3 volts if it less then this at anytime the check charging will come on to tell you the voltage is low output to the battery witch if it does drop the problem is usually the voltage regulator. Also the reason if it is on and then you shut it off and restart the light goes out is because you have just pulled a bunch of power from the battery to start the vehicle so the regulator opens up to full charge to replace the power loss. but could be a problem once the voltage gets back to normal the regulator doesn't know what voltage it needs to maintain so it just stops charging instead if trickle charging

Low oil pressure at idle 2008 cadillac escalade ext

if its low on an independent pressure gage then you could have worn engine bearings or a bad oil pump, pressure relief valve stuck open lowering oil pressure.

New battery not charging after changing the alternator

First make sure both battery cables are free of corrosion and ground is secured to chassis and engine then check to see if theres an alt. fuse or bat. fuse blown. Another way to test charging sys w\out an meter is to remove the ground terminal from the bat. with the car running, if the alt. is good car stays running, if all else fails take the alt and bat to a parts store that will test them for free

Replace spedometer cable 2003 gmc yukon xl

There is no speedometer cable on the 2003 Yukon, if there is no transmission issues like shifting problem. Your instrument cluster has gone bad, to pinpoint. Your stepper motor to your speedometer gauge has failed and needs to be replaced. You can do a search on Ebay for the stepper motor for around $10.00 which is better then the $400.00 cost of another instrument cluster.
There was a TSB on the replacement of the instrument cluster for your Yukon free of charge. The only cost to you is the labor charge unless your willing to do the job your self. Just go to the Gm Dealer and give them this TSB Number: # 07187C: Special Coverage Adjustment - Instrument Panel Cluster Gauge Needle Function - (Mar 20, 2009)
Subject:
07187C -- SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER GAUGE NEEDLE FUNCTION

Models:
2003-2004 CADILLAC ESCALADE, ESCALADE ESV, ESCALADE EXT
2005 CADILLAC ESCALADE, ESCALADE ESV, ESCALADE EXT (U.S. ONLY)
2003-2004 CHEVROLET AVALANCHE, SILVERADO, SUBURBAN, TAHOE
2005 CHEVROLET AVALANCHE, SILVERADO, SUBURBAN, TAHOE (U.S.ONLY)
2003-2004 GMC SIERRA, YUKON, YUKON XL
2005 GMC SIERRA, YUKON, YUKON XL (U.S. ONLY)

Some customers of all 2003-2004 model year and certain U.S. 2005 model year Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, and Escalade EXT; Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, and Tahoe; and GMC Sierra, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles have reported that one or more of the instrument panel (IP) cluster gauges stick, flutter, or become inoperative. This may cause inaccurate readings, including the speedometer and fuel gauge. Special Coverage Adjustment This special coverage covers the condition described above for a period of 7 years or 70,000 miles (110,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership.
Dealers are to replace the instrument panel cluster after the condition has been verified. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.

For verified failures between 70,001 miles (110,001 km) and 80,000 miles (130,000 km) on U.S. vehicles, dealers are to provide the customer with an instrument panel cluster (IPC) only. Any additional costs, including labor to replace the instrument panel cluster, will be the responsibility of the customer. Dealers are responsible for the return of the customer's IPC back to the Electronic Service Center

Thank you for using fixya and good luck.

There a squeeking noise in the steering colum of my 2002 escalade. Sounds like it maybe the speed odometer cable...If so is there anyway to check this out....and if so how do you change it...

I have a new noise on my 2000 DeVille and it does vary when I vary the speed. It sounds like a fan motor buzz, but gets faster when I accelerate. Any idea what this could be? I first thought it was coming from the speedometer section on the dash, but when I listened closer it seemed to be under the hood close to the windshield.

Won't start, won't turn over. Getting a battery light and also a check fuel cap light. Have checked fuel cap...even removed it and put it back on tight again. Car showed absolutely no sign of trouble when...

Have your Alternator output chk'd. Output to the battery should be between 13.6 and 14.2 volts This too is why your bat warning light is on. Did the cap tightening work? Turn your key on and off 3 times and see if that cancels the dash warn lamps. but have your alt and bat cked regardless. Most auto parts stores will ck both for free.Good Luck, Ned

Gage reads 10-50 degrees below actual tempiture

The needle on the dash gage can be pulled off and slipped back onto the stem of the gage. First get an accurate temp gage to be sure what the engine temp is operating at. Then remove the face of the dash gages and remove the needle and place it back onto the stem to reflect the current correct engine temp and you should be good.

Speed sensor on a 05 escalade

Hey Joe, unfortunately, because your escalade is so new (05), there is not much info available yet online as far as free info goes. I checked a couple of sites and no luck. However, for about the cost of a manual, u should be able to access the speed sensor info and MUCH more online @ either 'alldata' or 'eautorepair'. I will do some more research on it tonight to see if I can find that info, but I'm not too hopeful. Is the escalade AWD?
