SOURCE: I need a replacement volume
Hi p00pmeister
This great old amp uses an Alps brand attenuator. This could be a little hard to find an exact fit replacemernt. Have you tried to clean the control. The can generally be restored by flooding the internals with CRC 2-26. If you have intermittent channels, check also the amp/preamp switch to the rear of the amp also.
Check out this Has some instruction on dealing with the disassembly of the attenuator

SOURCE: balance switch for sansui au-g30x integrated amplifier
Finding a replacement control will probably be expensive (over $20 including shipping) so here's a cheap + dirty fix. Most people never use the balance control so losing it won't usually matter.
The control is probably labeled something like 10kohms. Take a digital multimeter and measure the value from each of the outside terminals to the center one then replace the control with two resistors with the values you just measured.
If you still want to replace it, ask over at www.audiokarma.org and somebody should be able to suggest a parts source.

Spare parts are available at the component level for most parts. What parts are you looking for?
