Samsung RS2533SW freezer not cooling problem

My side-by-side Samsung refrigerator front temp control panel display was flashing and icecream was melting when I get home today. Reset power to it. The temp display became normal and the refrige side is cooling down to 34F, however the freezer side is still 61F. It seems that the bottom inside the freezer is colder than the top. What is the problem?

I have this exact same issue. This morning the freezer temp display was flashing 0, ice melted all over the place, but the fridge part was fine. I unplugged it for 9 minutes per the Samsung help number to reset it, and now it's not flashing but it says 61. It does seem cooler at the bottom but I don't know if that's because of the stuff we had in there or not. The freezer part is definitely not getting any colder. The fridge part works just fine though.

I came home today to reset my fuse box. When I did so it appears that my Samsung RS2533SW fridge didn't like it. It is 5 years old and I have had nothing but problems with this appliance. I will never buy Samsung again.

We had a momentary power interruption and now display has a 5E flashing. Nothing I do will bring panel back to normal. Frig is cooling okay. Last time this happened it reset itself. Has been 24 hours now.

SOURCE: Samsung RS2533SW freezer not cooling problem

I was having the same problem but with the refrigerator side. I know your problem was with the freezer side but I hope this works in your situation too. I was also told to unplug the fridge for 20 minutes and that did not do a thing to reset the circuit board in my situation. Unplug the refrigerator first. In the back of the refrigerator at the bottom is a metal panel. Remove that panel and off to the right side of it should be a white looking plastic box. Unscrew that box from the fridge and open it up to get to the circuit board. Remove ALL harnesses from the circuit board and capacitor. After doing so plug them all back in and reassemble everything back together and plug in the fridge. This should reset the board and allow it to function correctly. This is advice I got from someone else and everything as of today is cooling down like it should. I hope this helps everyone else out. Best of luck.

Also since the evaporator was frozen solid at the bottom on the refrigerator side I had to leave the power off until it thawed and then had to soak up all the water that collected at the bottom of it.

Push and hold power freeze and power cool simultaneously until display flashes. Release and leave alone. You just reset the brain on your display. In an hour or so, reset the desired freezer and refrigerator temps. My suggestion, -6 on freezer, 44 on refrigerator.

Control panel not working Samsung refrigerator model rs2533sw. Not cooling.

I have a samsung refrigertor rs2555sl and my control panel stopped working after I turned the power off to the house (to install a light fixture elsewhere). There was one green light blinking on the refrigerator temp display.

Hold down the "power freeze" and "power cool" buttons at the same time for at least 8 seconds. This is a self diagnostic program. A number should appear on the refrigerator temp display (1-9)...it will hold for 30 seconds and then the panel should function again.

In my case the number that appeared was "3" which can indicate a multitude of things including a short circuit or power outage (which was it was for me).

Hope this helps!

Samsung rs2533sw fridge not cooling

it sounds like the refrigerator evap is frozen up causing the compartment to get too hot. shut the unit off and let it thaw out. then take the screws out of the cover to check the stryrofoam on the back side of the cover to see if theres broken spots on it causing the air to bypass the evap causing it to freeze. Theres two screws behind the light cover and two at the very bottom of the cover and two behind the decorative plugs about 1/2 way

soiunds like the coil on the refrigerator side is iced up.take and open the refrfigerator side and take a blow drier and after removing the 11 screws use the hair drier to slowly melt the icec behind the cover. If you pull too hard and or too soon you'll break the stryofoam ductin that has to be around the coil. then make sure that the drain line is clear reassemble and have a Merry Christmas!
