water leak from cold hose nothing to do with other problem. tighten hose connection and fit a new hose washer overfilling probably because air chamber blocked. remove lid. you will see a pressurestat somewhere at the top - usually round with anything from 3 to 7 wires and a small tube underneath. follow hose down and it connects to the air chamber. make sure this is free of gung and check hose for splits and has no blockage. to check the pressure stat itself, attach your own hose to the stat and while machine in fill mode, blow down this hose and you should hear a click and water intake will stop

Sounds like you may have a timer problem. You might be able to pick one up at a appliance parts center. Most of the time, they can be pretty pricey item, if you can even get one for older models. Check EBAY as well, sometimes you can find hard to find parts for pretty cheap. Replacing the timer shouldnt be that hard. UNPLUG the unit, remove the console, which should be held on by screws, the remove and replace one wire at a time back to the timer. Use caution when removing the timer knob, you dont want to crack it. Most knobs remove by unscrewing to the left.

you need to access your drain pump and check it for an obstruction but when you pull the hose off keep in mind it might have a lot of water in it i usually use a shop vac and pull all the water out through the drain hose before removing the hose or opening the pump sorry i cant be more specific but ive never cleaned the pump on a hoover

The most common cause of machines stopping mid cycle is not draining. Your machine should have a filter behind the kick plate at the bottom.
If this is not the case please post back for further assistance.
