I hitched up my HP 1020 to my tablet and it appears under settings but does not appear under printers?

You need to install the drivers for it your computer sees the device but it has some generic driver for it. Go to the hp website and get the proper drivers then go to settings and tell the pc to install new drivers it will say those are the best then tell it to use yours browse to your download folder and tell the computer to use the ones you downloaded and it should work fine. Sorry for generic answer but with out more info i cant answer specifics. Like what kind of operating system does the tablet have and how is it connected to the printer example usb wifi bluetooth IR...

My laserjet 1020 has a paper jam output message, i followed the instruction that appeared on the screen, but still, the message appear when i tried to print, there is also a red blinking light

Try to press the reset button on your printer if did not works just try to download the reseter of your printer in HP Laserjet 1020 at the HP website. Because your printer have a lifespan printing; example if your printer have a 100,000 copies to be print so you have aloud to print not more than 100,000 copies. That's why need to reset your printer using the reseter program by HP.

How I cannot use y HP LaserJet1020 with the IMac?

I've just looked at the drivers page on the HP website and it would appear that the 1020 is a windows only printer.
We have a 1022 which works fine on our Macs.
It's unfortunate, but for some reason HP made quite a few of their printers windows only - same with most Canon lasers.

Printer Spooler Service not working

Reinstalling drivers usually fix this problem.

Reinstall drivers with printer connection cable unplugger, either using driver CD or download from the link below.

Problem with vertical white line on HP laserjet 1020 printer.

there is probably toner on the laser. take a small vacuum cleaner and vacuum out the printer. DO NOT blow out the printer as it may scratch the mirror on the laser. Also take a cloth and some rubbing alcohol and wipe off all the visible surfaces inside the printer.

Do you have Status Messages turned off? Access the Printer Properties window. Click the Configure tab (figure 1). Re-enable Status Messages by selecting On . Power cycle the printer by turning it off, then back on. Wait a few seconds for the job to resume or try printing the job again.
