My Pixma 500 printer now gives me an error stating that the wrong printer head is installed. The printer head has not been changed nor tampered with.

I have tried to clear the error as suggested "push OKAY button, or cancel printing, shut printer off and restart. Still getting error message...

I am getting a "wrong print head" error message.

Turn the printer off.
Disconnect the power-cord from the wall-outlet.
Reconnect the power.
Turn the printer on.
If you still get the same message, it's time to responsibly recycle the printer,
and buy a replacement -- maybe you can buy a new PIXMA that takes the same ink-cartridges???

Mp780 wrong cartridge error

Try to reset to factory .
Remove ink cartridges and print head.
Power off machine and unplug for 10-15 minutes.
Restart machine and install head and cartridges.

It is probably one of the cartridges. Usually, when the message "wrong cartridge" appears, the cartridge is faulty.
