My wife put a queen bed topper in our daewoo dwd1222 front loading washing machine and it has somehow mad the tub come unbalanced or loose. so it rattles badly when it spins... how to fix?

Sound like one of the wights has come off or is loose and damaging the drum and other parts take a under the machine and you may see the problem

look at supports and levelers for out of adjustment or damage

I don't know if this is a new washing machine or not, but I would recommend is getting a few small thin boards and making sure the machine is level. If this doesn't work there could be a bad sensor, but that doesn't seem like the case to me as moving the machine a little gets it to restart.

make sure unit is level possibly lower front legs down so front sits higher,,, and also when u put or load in push the tub back so when the water enters it all enters into the tub sometimes the water will splash on the tube and cause a problem u are discribing hope this help

Believe it or not.....its almost always the cloths ( heavy blankets) that one places inside.
TRY:: In the spin cycle if the load is unbalanced the TUB will rock and make that "loose drum out of alignment" noise. STOP the machine and open the door ( IF IT IS A TOP LOADER ) realign the cloths (heavy or more then one blanket) so that it is EVENLY spaced through out the tub.Start the machine again.If it does it again, stop the machine and REALIGN the cloths (blanket !!) again.
p.s. there is a simpler way of doing it but I don't want you to loose your hand in the process.

having a very unbalanced load can cause the water to go over . yes the tubs are supposed to be able to move around some.run a load with no clothes in it if it leaks then you may have a more serious problem

I usually stand in front of the washer and take the plams of my hands and forcefully provide a force with the heel of my hands on the side front corners and the lip comes up

Another option is to pull the washer out and remove 2 clips (usually requires quarter inch nut driver to allow the top to come up

This should allow you to get the top off to see if a spring has broken or slipped off

We just had that same problem last week. My husband took off the back of the washer and at the bottom you will see a shock absorber on each side. One side of ours was broken. $35.00 later for the parts (you get two in a package) and the tub is sturdy once again. Husband said it was fairly easy to do. Hope this helps!
