Return it to the store for a replacement before your warranty expires. There isn't any setting that would correct that kind of noise problem.

Sony sets will have good picture quality. There is no doubt about it. Check your picture settings. Download the user manual to this set, and refer it. Make sure that all picture settings are correct.

Sony BRAVIA KDL-40V2500 audio not working

I would Google the model number carefully for "problems" "no sound" and usually this set will display some kind of error code===it may even have a hard reset to try===service manuals are available on the net/web to allow you to see how the sound circuit is set up etc.

Sony Bravia with Phillps dvd player

The DVD player may have multiple output formats that can be displayed. Sounds like you have the composite output selected when you have the component output selected on the DVD player. Check the menu options on the DVD player and confirm they match the way you have the player connected

Sony Bravia KDL-46S2010

Try plugging the coax directly into the T.V. or from you VCR or DVD player then to the TV. The bravia sets also have various picture mode settings as you will discover when you go through your manual. Cable boxes or splitters can cause problems also is they are not of good quality. I love my 40.
