when the color wheel stops the picture will be all over the place. and you will have lines when it starts to fail as its not going fast enough for the picture. wining sound is it wearing out.

check in your manual and follow instructions on updating the software. you download the file to computer then move it to a memory stick (USB), then simply insert it into the tv

white unstable lines plus screeching noise it basically due to loose contact at input 1 like antena or cable wire or socket loose. 2 loose contact some where in your tv. 3 loose contact in some electrical thing. 4 loose near tuner section. hope this will help.
