Whirlpool duet fw95hedco washer won't spin at max speed & leaves all clothes wet. No error codes during tech diagnostic visit. Washer only 18 months old. At the end of cycle, gets to 12 mins on timer, tries a few times to spin fast but never gets there & quickly shows 1 min remaining & back. shuts off. Can hear washer draining though hose Said they will order MCU but will be another WEEK. Is that going to fix it? Saw another site say the "stator" needs to be replaced. Can't go weeks without washer in this house.

I have found it is an unbalance condition, it doesn't dry your clothes. The fIx I found is to add 3 or 4 clean bath towels to your washer. The more the better if you are washing a king size blanket. Then select Rinse/Drain & Spin then push extra rinse to turn out light. Then start the machine. Always works for me.

Model number you listed is not correct. The stator is more time consuming to replace and if this is a warranty repair then it is cost effective to replace the motor control first.

Possible Defective washer transmission. Do you overload the washer with heavy items like towels or blue jeans very often? That can cause early failure.

Testimonial: "I would have to day that I never OVERload it but wash towels & bedding every week with a family of 5. Out of curiosity, what kind of problem would it point to if the fast spin worked on the Cold Wash specific setting only? Not the water temp, but the cycle setting of the first dial?"

Right- typo - model #WFW95HEDC. Any thoughts about why fast spin only works on "cold wash" cycle setting? Still indicate a MCU replacement as best first fix?

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6700TW1 skips wash cycle and stops after 14 minutes to oL

oL is an Overload error. Try running a cycle empty.

If oL (overloaded) appears in display, the load too large. If an overload is detected, the washer will drain any water and detergent in the washer. Remove several items and add HE detergent. Close lid and press START/PAUSE.

Why does the washer stop during a load and "F 06"

Hello,

The F6 error code means that the computer on the control didnt detect that the motor reached a high speed on the spin cycle, sometimes it thinks the washer didnt spin fast enough because of a loose wire connection either on the motor or the control boards (motor &machine control) if you find that the washer did actually spin at high speed (clothes dont come out sopping wet at the end of cycle) the wire connections or the motor control board will be the potential causes of the F6 error code

My duet ht front loading whirlpool washer goes through a complete cycle then during the spin and drain ( the last cycle) it displays a f6 notice and will not complete the cycle, you cant get the wet...

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F06 in your washer indicates that the control is unable to properly detect the motor speed and so the washer shuts down. This usually occurs during high speed spin and the door will be unlocked after 3 minutes. To resolve this issue you’ll have to check the wire harness connections between the Driver motor and the Motor control unit (MCU). If that is fine then check the connection between the MCU & central control unit (CCU), replace the part that has gone bad. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

I would assume that you are using HE detergent if not the pump could go into a suds lock. You may have a bad drain pump. The other options could be possibly a bad central control unit. (however these are very expensive) or possibly a door lock issue but usually you will get a door lock error.

Whirlpool frontload duet washer F 6 problem

hello cjkcp
Welcome to Fixya

You said, your washer (now 4 yrs old) occasionally stops mid cycle flashing F 6 code. Is this something we can fix or do I have to call a repair man?

F/06 Drive Motor Tachometer Error

The control is unable to properly detect motor speed and the machine will shut down. If a failure occurs during high-speed spin, the door will be unlocked after 3 minutes.
  • Check wire harness connections between the Drive Motor/Tachometer and the Motor Control Unit (MCU), and between the MCU and the Central Control Unit (CCU)
  • Check the Drive Motor
  • Check the MCU
  • Check the Wire Harness

I believe this needs a hands on tech to daignose this. Unless you feel you undrstand the problem your self?

Diagnostic complete

Your washer apparently did not complete diagnostics. The display indicates that it stopped at the segment of the test where it was attempting to fill by using the hot water solenoid. The diagnostic test segments check the following:

C:00 - Door Lock
C:01 - Flow Meter, Cold Water Solenoid
C:02 - Dispenser Motor, Dispenser Contacts
C:03 - Hot Water Inlet Valve
C:04 - Motor rotates CW at wash speed
C:05 - Heater & NTC (Heater Sensor)
C:06 - Drain Pump
C:07 - Motor rotates CCW at 35 to 90 rpm within 15 seconds
C:08 - Motor rotates CCW at max. speed.

If there is an error associated with any portion of the diagnostics, the washer will shut down, an audible alarm will be heard, and an error (F) code will be displayed. Sometimes the washer will experience momentray glitches during testing, however. I would recommend unplugging the washer for at least 30 minutes to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). The is the main "brain" of the washer. Upon reset, attempt diagnostics again and let me know the results. I hope this helps you.
