Toshiba Cinema Series

The Toshiba sets were well known for bad capacitors in the power supply. I recommend getting it assessed.

Here are the codes for a Toshiba TV and DISH remote:
617,631, or 744AddressRemote to TV

1. While at the device location (TV, etc), point the remote at the device. Press and hold the device button on the remote (TV, Aux, etc). - All four mode buttons should light up
2. Enter the three-digit remote control code - The mode button (TV, Aux, etc.)you selected should light up
3. Press the Pound (#) button - The mode button you are programming should flash three times
4. Press the large, red POWER button - The device should turn off

A red flahing light is sometimes a Standby Mode. Does the power button on the remote turn it on.Sometimes the remote has multi funtions and you need to select TV for it to work.Try using the Power Button on the TV.Good Luck.

Okay this goes for the 3000 series remotes it might work for more. Press and hold the setup button until the red indicator light stays on'. Then release the setup button. Press and release the desired mode button (TV,VCR,etc) In your case it would be TV.The red indicator light then stays on.Then enter the four digit code. For a valid entry the red light goes off for a invalid code the red light flashes.With your device powered on push the channel up button if it works you are done. If some buttons don't work try some other codes.The codes are 0517, 0419, 0512, 0613, 0719, 0112, 0506, 0111, 0618, 0618, 0627, 0437, 0041, 0313, 0715, 0094, 0802, and 0111. You will need to trouble shoot the start up and shutdown circuits. Often this is a minor component failing causing the set to not power up or go into protective shutdown. Do you have the service manual for this TV?

Unplug the TV for 2 minutes and plug it back on.
It should work.

Try to unplug and replug back the power cord of the
tv and turn it on again. Sometime this work.

We finally had a repair man out and he replaced 2 convergence IC. They were $80 each so get out the check book! Works fine now!

I had the same red blinking led problem on my Toshiba Theaterview tv. I resolved by:
- Unplugging the tv.
- Press several times (3 or 4 times) the tv Power button.
- Plug the tv back in and press the Power button once to turn the tv on....tv worked!!!

I've had the problem before and tried unplugging the tv for a couple of days and that had also worked, but I this recent solution seems to be faster.
