When you boot the machine in safe mode, it lists a whole load of drivers its loading. What is the last file it gets to before it reboots?

It could be your hard drive problem. Which I called it, "Crash." I would suggest you try to format the hard drive and reload the operation system with your installation CD.

Sr1920nx starts to load windows then freezes

Infected with something or driver issues.. Try this trick, Turn off the system and wait 20 seconds, start the computer and click the F8 key till you see a black and white screen. Choose Safe mode or safe mode with networking. If windows starts this way, then you know you have a infection or a driver issue - If the computer does the same freeze up, then you know it has other issues - possibly hardware issues..

Hopes this information help, Have a great day..

Why won't my compaq presario 1250 load windows?

1 - You may need to roll back system with System Restore. Under Safe Mode (press F8 during boot and choose safe mode).
Win 7 - Start > Search type System Restore
XP - Is Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Restore. Now choose a date prior to problem. You may have to try a few dates.

2 - Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig. Startup tab and uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running. This just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but when only you initiate.

Need recovery disc for compaq presario SR1920NX

go to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3184154

If you don't want to purchase the recovery disks you may want to just install a 'generic' windows xp, Vista, or Windows 7 and download the drivers you need (if not included in the generic installation) and install the computer's unique drivers.

I have a presario cq61 and have forgot my password can u help

Try starting the computer in safe mode. Turn on the computer and once the COMPAQ screen clears press F8 a few times - don't hold down the key however. Winodws stops loading at teh Startup Options screen (black, text only). From that menu use the cursor keys and ENTER to select "Safe Mode". Once Windows loads (it may look humungous!), login as the Administrator (which should now be visible). Use this account to reset your forgotten user password. Restart once complete - the computer will automatically start normally.

My presario SR1920NX gradually sloed down and

You more than likely will have to reformat due to a corrupt system...I would try first going into safemode (unless i misunderstood ) and to to start, run type "msconfig" and then go to startup tab....uncheck anything you just installed....caution: if you dont know what it is is...windows/system then dont uncheck it because that will actually cause the error you describe. Or try un-installing what you recently install in safemode. if you cant access safemode then use the recovery mode to recover the system files...usually the computer will ask for the windows XP cd. good luck...hope this helps

Bootsafe error on hp compaq notebook notebook pc while booting

Boot from the XP disc and press R at the first screen. This takes you into Recovery Console. Run these commands:

fixboot c:
fixmbr
exit

The computer will restart and hopefully it will load Windows.

If not, is your computer making clicking sounds?

Hp compaq presario v3000 is not loding the OS, show an error

  • as you boot the computer, start tapping the F8 keys
  • From the boot menu, select Safe Mode
If this seems to work, you can try restoring the computer to an earlier point from Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.
If Safe Mode also fails to load, you would have to check your disk for errors or you may have to install XP all over again.
Please get back, if you need any further help.

Laptop wont turn on properly

A vital component that windows requires to run is corrupted. To fix it, you need the OS disc

In Windows Vista, there is usually a second partion on the harddrive that you can load by pressing F8 (or F10 depending on your system) and selecting the repair your computer option (depending on your manufacturer, you might need to input a password, after that choose the repair your computer option or solve startup problems

In Windows XP load the disc and open the recovery manager.

at that xp screen the computer loads all of the drivers and windows components. is is possible that something recently installed was not good or something has become corrupted. reboot the computer and as it is coming up continually tap the f8 key. you will get to the windows advanced options menu. choose the option for last known good configuration. if this doesnt solve your problem you may need to reinstall windows on this computer.
