I have had two of my Canon plotters give this error.message, I had to
manually move the carriage unit and replace the printhead. On one of
the plotters the error message returned, on the second plotter I was
able to go into service mode where it asked me to replace the printhead.
I just went though the motions since the printhead was brand new and I
was able to get the plotter to function correctly.
It's just a practice with every plotter that i've worked on.The guide lines are absolutely inacurate. For every individial z6100 may be different but in mine the the right side of the paper must be about 3mm inside from the tip of the guide arrows(the paper must cover 3mm of the arrows).

Go to the Utility page in the printing preferences and click the button to "Update Ink Information" make sure the black ink type matches the one in your plotter.
