I will be having another blood draw on Monday. I know what happens if you have a low white blood cell count. I want to know what kind of effect it can have from the srteroid
It's pretty complicated.
Having a viral infection can lower lymphocytes, a bacterial infection will raise polymorphs, steroids do not alter total body white cells but makes the polymorph white cells a bit "lazy" so sometimes they appear high but are functioning less well.
Atrial fibrillation and COPD per se shouldn't alter cell counts
What meds you take can do
You may be suffering from COPD which stands for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. You need to see your doctor who will probably do the spirometry test which is a simple breathing test that can help diagnose COPD.
