I have had no problems until recently...but now when try to log on to yahoo email ...or acess a web site..it tell me internet explorer cannot acess the page . or web site ..please fix trhis.
Does this occur with all sites? How are you connecting to the internet (broadband, wireless, modem)? If you go to Start>Run, type cmd and hit return and then type ipconfig /all in the command window is an IP address assigned to an adapter? If not, it will start 169.*.*.*. If you do have an IP address are you able to ping addresses (open command prompt as above and type ping 212.42.175.205 then when that has finished type ping www.google.co.uk)? If you can get a ping response by IP address but not by FQDN (www.google.co.uk in this case) then the issue is with your DNS.Does this occur with all sites? I got the answer from another web site. I tried it and it solved the problem.
Click tools in your yahoo home page >then select "Internet options" > click on "security" tab > click on "Restricted Sites" > , type in the following two sites.
Are you sure you are connected to the internet? If so you need to check the internet connection settings. You can also call your Internet service provider, and tell them your problem, they'll send their man and fix it for you. If you are connected and the ping is successful, there might be some other problem, first try with another browser, suppose if you are using Internet Explorer, try firefox. Run full system virus scan using an updated antivirus. There are lot more but please follow the above steps before you proceed forward. Good luck, let me know the result.
It's good that you have narrowed down the problem to when your laptop is at your work. I have two suggestions for narrowing it down further, (1) tell us exactly what error you get from Firefox when you try to access yahoo sites from your work (2) try a ping before and after you have a problem getting to yahoo sites. (You might want to try this a few times to see if it is consistent.)
If ping says 0% loss before and after you have a problem accessing Yahoo at work, then that suggests the problem is NOT with your wireless router (unless it is doing filtering). Instead, it would be more likely an issue with filtering/blocking/firewall or web cache/proxy. It might even be a deliberate decision by your work-place to block access to Yahoo for employees.
Check the privacy settings on your Internet Explorer Click Tools => Internet Options => Security => Restricted Sites and check if Yahoo is under the Blocked website list. If not, try downloading other browsers like Mozilla Firefox and try checking your email.
yahoo is currently experiencing browser issues...try logging in through ur internet explorer...if that doesnt work check ur connections...if that doesnt work call ur provider
