Five blinks means, "IK (AKB)" (white balance). The probable causes listed by Sony are as follows:
1) Video OUT (IC561) is faulty (A board)
2) IC355 is faulty (A board)
3) Screen (G2) is improperly adjusted.
not sure what the 13 blinks are for.
hope this helps,

If you see bad capicators, just replace the ones that appear to be bad. There are many different types of capicators on the power supply and there are different part number for each one. The good thing about capicators is they almost always list the ratings on the capacitor itself.
Check the Voltage rating (V) and the Farad ratings (F, usually μF), you can replace them with any one that has the same ratings. Make sure BOTH of them match the old ratings, you can purchase at just about any electronics store that carries electrical components such as RadioShack.

Hi syzonker
Before you replace the power supply , check for swollen(rounded top)capacitors.
Also check and replace C126 47mfds/50 volts
And C520 1000mfds/16 volts
good luck and let me know if you need further help

Six blinks - No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to
the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516
and the jungle IC, IC206.
