SOURCE: how do i unlock an ipod with " ipod disabled".

If you are the original owner of the iPod just connect it to the computer that you first synced the device with.
If you have found an iPod that had a lock code on it and have attempted to guess the passwords incorrectly too many times, I recommend you do the right thing and give it back to the original owner if you can.
If you cannot find the original owner I see no point in letting a good piece of technology go to waste so follow these instructions.
1) Turn off the iPod by holding down the power button (button on the top) and sliding the slider across to shut it off.
2) Find your Sync Cable and Plug it into the computer (just the computer, not the iPod yet)
3) Open iTunes
4) Hold down the home button.  (Button at the bottom)  While still holding down the button connect the sync cable to the iPod.
This should put the iPod into recovery mode.  Once in recovery mode iTunes should pop up a message stating that it has detected an iPod in recovery mode and should allow you to restore it.  This will delete all of the data/music on the iPod but will allow you to use it as if it were new.

I don't know how to get rid of the speaker symbol in the center of the Itouch screen.

Turn the iPod Touch off and then back on again. Here's how: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If this doesn't help, try to reset the iPod touch while it is connected to power. To reset, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until either the Apple logo or battery symbol appears. If the battery symbol appears, continue to charge the device until it is fully charged.

My ipod wont charge what do i do?

Try resetting the unit using this method:

RESTORING IPOD TOUCH:
Try plugging it into your computer. Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons
at the same time until the screen goes black (can take longer than 10 seconds) then
let go of the sleep button (the button on the top of the unit) while keeping the
home button held in (the button on the front of the iPod). Keep the home button
held in until your computer recognizes new hardware. You should hear some sort of
sound coming from your computer speakers. That and the "installing new hardware"
notice should come up in your taskbar (this is where you computer shows the clock).
Let go of the home button once this happens. Open up iTunes and then restore it.
Keep in mind, that by restoring it, you will lose all data!!!!!
