ITunes enables you to restore iPad to factory settings. Before you start restoring iPad to factory settings, please note that you need to install the latest version of iTunes on your computer. Then go to Settings > iCloud to turn off Find My iPhone. Now, you can factory reset your iPad with iTunes as follows.

1. Plug iPad into the computer with the USB cable. The iTunes on your computer will automatically launch. If not, double-click the icon to start it.

2. Click the name of your iPad at the upper right corner of iTunes, and then the information of your iPad will be shown. Click the "Restore iPad" button in the window to start.

3. iTunes will ask whether you want to back up iPad before restoring. You'd better choose "Yes" for the reset will erase the contents in your iPad. Then iTunes will start restoring your iPad to factory settings.

4. Click Restore again to confirm. Then iTunes erases your iPad and installs the latest iOS software. After you restore tablet to factory settings, it will restart. Now you can set it up as new.

I want to reset my password

You need to connect iPad to computer, launch iTunes, and restore the iPad. Data will be lost, if not backed up (but without a password, access is a problem...). Internet connection is needed to download new system.

How do i reset ipad without password

Hi Danielle,

To Hard Reset the iPad you are going to need to do the following:

Hold the home (Located at the front side at the bottom of touch screen), and lock button (Located directly on top of the iPad itself) at the same time for at least 10 seconds until the apple logo appears.

This will force the device to do a factory reset to default settings, as if you had just turned on the iPad for the very first time.

My screen froze. I did a hard shut down. When it turned back on, under settings it reads, Wi-FI Not Connected. When I type in the password it reads not the correct password for this device. We hav

connect other device. If connected then the router is OK. But if not, reset the router( or just power off then wait for about a minute or more then power it on).

or in your ipad, go to settings>>>>> then general>>> then reset>> select reset network settings.
