In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

I need help with my TV that has NO picture.

Chances are you received a defective replacement board, to determine what board is bad test the power on pin on the power supply to main connector it should be marked PS_ON, when you push the power button it should go from 0 volts to about 3.3volts, if you see this replace the power board , if you don't see voltage there replace the main, a tcon will not cause a set to be dead like yours is

I have a TV that shows power on (red light on front of TV), but nothing on scree. TV model is LG 42LN5300-UB

Check the various voltages coming from the power supply board and see if they are all ok, there is a legend on the power supply board to show what voltages are at what pins on the connectors, the 5 volt standby we know is good as long as the set has sound, but check the others

I have a 50" Samsung LED tv, that quit working after a recent power surge. Ironically the tv was plugged into a surge protector. Any way after the surge the tv will no longer power on normally, and I have...

To find out what is going on your going to need to measure the power supply voltages and PSON voltage, start with the 5 volt supply if that is normal then test the PSON voltage it should either be 3 to 5 volt and go to about 1 volt or be close to 1 volt and go to 3 to 5 when you push the power button, if you see that change then test the other voltages. if they are all ok the power board is working ok, Be very careful around the power supply, if your not familiar with testing high DC voltage then take it in and have it repaired as the hot side voltage gets close to 400 volts on some sets.

I have an element tv that isn't displaying picture only sound.

Most likely it's the LED driver. It could be on the main board or the power supply board. These people can get you the correct parts: TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy

Samsung LED TV Model # UN39FH5000F Has audio but no video. No backlight is visible. Can't see "menu" with flashlight.

Its likely the panel itself or the digitizer is going out if voltage is flowing properly. If voltages are off then as I'm sure you know its the motherboard. Good Luck Friend!

LED TV - replaced power board but still no backlight? LED backlights do not seem to work.

yes the led backlight for whatever reason is not functioning and that is the root cause of your problem. Unfortunately to find a replacement led backlight is tough as the backlight is normally fixed with the lcd panel and has to match the voltage and all that stuff with motherboard. and if that doesn't match you might short the tv itself. this case is as good as getting a replacement lcd panel.

Samsung Plasma won't power on

this is not a capacitor problem. set is only 18 months old - has something to do with x y sustain boards not allowing smps to power on the high voltages.

Pana TH-52PWD8UK. No picture, flashing red LED on front panel

Thanks for the quick answer. I purchased the set in 2005 and it lives outside under an overhang on my patio in humid South Florida. Unfortunately, I couldnt count the red flashes before it went completely dead. Think it was 4or 5. This would correspond with a possible fuse failure on the Power supply. I bought the online service manual, I just wish I knew what to do with it!! The fuses both seem to check out ok on a continuity check. any ideas? Thanks, Charlie
