STIHL BLOWERS BG 56/C and BG 86/C

1. Stihl Blower BG 56/C {e1*97/68SH2-lA*2004/26SH2-llA*0480*00} 2. Stihl Blower BG 86/C {e1*97/68SH2-llA*2011/88*0481*01} In 2014 I bought Stihl Blower BG 56/C. After three 3 months it stopped working. A new carburetor did not help. In 2015 I bought Stihl Blower BG 86/C. It completely shut down after four 4 months. New carburetor made no difference. Both carburetor and pistons were damaged. Average usage in both cases - 3 to 4 times per week; running time under 20 minutes each time. I repair a variety of machines, including blowers and bush whackers. I have never experienced this before. Were these reconditioned but sold as new? Anyone has ideas about this?

I don't have much experience with Stihl products but I do have a couple of disc cutters, both of which had a short life and suffered piston damage.

I suspect the air cleaner isn't as efficient as it should be.
