NO - That is an antibiotic. All that will do is prevent infection in the lesions. Your best bet for those is calamine lotion. I've had shingles on my forehead. I would recommend:
1. Go to an Ophthalmologist TOMORROW. You are at great risk for PERMANENT EYE DAMAGE.
2. Ask him for an Anti-Viral medication to slow the progress and reduce the symptoms of the shingles.
3. Ask him for some pain medication. If you're not experiencing extreme pain yet, you may.
Don't mess around with this - it's serious, not to mention painful. And don't go back to the doc that gave you a antibiotic for Shingles.
