Remote indicate HP - HP Televison & Video

The HP 5069-8344 is a remote control that came with some HP Media Center PCs. A quick guide to the buttons on the remote and its use can be found in the HP Digital Entertainment User's Guide, http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00237784.pdf , on pages 15-16. This quick guide indicates that the full directions for use are included in the HP Media Center Software Guide. See http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00385551.pdf for one version of this guide. Note: the software guides that I found are all for systems with Microsoft XP (Media Center). They may not apply to other versions of the MS operating system, even though Media Center was available in them (Windows 7, for example).

If you need the code list for the original HP-T4254 remote, BN59-00599A, these are listed in the manual starting at page 22. The steps to program the remote are on the preceding page. Please note that the codes programmed into the remote will probably not operate devices that are newer than the TV. Sometimes electronic devices that were released less than 6 months before the remote was programmed will not respond to the available codes in the given remote.

If you are trying to find a Samsung TV code that will work with another remote, please indicate which universal remote you are trying to program. (There is a Redi-Remote replacement for the BN59-00599A that does not function as a universal remote.)

It is your remote control that is not functioning when the down button is pressed. There is no easy way to test the remote but the small light on the remote should flicker we the button is pressed. If it does not flicker press down hard on the button a few times in effort to get the light to flicker as that will be indicating that transmission is taking place. Dust can prevent good contact with the switch inside the remote and by pressing hard on the button may re-establish contact again. It is however not fail prove as the light can flicker but is still not transmitting to the motor control box. The fact that the keyboard and up function is working indicates that the remote is malfunctioning and need to be replaced.

Check the remote control for its infrared emission first. Check it with fresh batteries. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. You must check if there is power to the fan to confirm if there is failure of the fan motor. Since the FR display indicates there is possibility that the power is initiating.
If the remote unit is not powered from the main unit then it is possible that the main control section must be checked for failure in the control unit.
Check for faulty wiring to the remote unit-or a break in the wiring from the main unit. Check the received voltages on the remote unit.

Replace new battery

Check your manual or go on line and find out where it is.
