I am assuming you are asking about Cortana.
Cortana is a voice activated personal assistant that you can use to get Weather forecasts, remind you of appointments and/or dates, send email, Etc. A lot of people find this program helpful, and a lot of people find this program annoying, ( BECAUSE IT SLOWS THEIR COMPUTER DOWN). You can disable this program two ways: 1st way, launch Cortana from the search bar on the task bar, click settings from the left pane, and under Cortana the first option I believe, slide the button switch to the off position; 2nd way, type gpedit.msc in the search box to open the editor, go to Local computer policy/ Computer configuration/ Administrative templates/ Search. Then double click the policy named allow Cortana. I believe this is it for the second way. Hope this helps. Let me know.

There's a lot of possibilities why your laptop runs slow.

First, your hard drive is almost full already. Please do confirm that your hard drive has a lot of space still.

Second, you are running many apps at one time. On this matter you need to upgrade your ram.

Third, your laptop has a virus or your anti virus is making it slow. Please do run a scan on your laptop to check if it is not infected with a virus. Sometimes we may consider also the anti-virus that we are using cause it might not be compatible with your laptop.
