I think you are going to have to call Ricoh customer service regarding this error. Otherwise, you have to fall back on basic troubleshooting for any printer. Beside such stuff as shutting off the printer and restarting it, you might check Windows Update as well as the status of the printer drivers. I simply have no reference as to what this error is. I think this is a discontinued printer. How that relates to any service contract you may have is something only you know. Here are the links to printer drivers for this printer: http://support.ricoh.com/bb/html/dr_ut_e/apc/model/sg3110sfnw/sg3110sfnw.htm
If your Ricoh MP5000 printer is displaying the "Please Wait" message, it may be due to a problem with the printer or an issue with the print job. Here are a few things you can try to fix the issue:
Restart the printer: Sometimes a simple restart of the printer can fix minor issues. Turn the printer off, wait a few minutes, and then turn it back on again.
Check for errors: Check the printer's control panel for any error messages or codes. These messages can help diagnose the problem.
Cancel the print job: If the "Please Wait" message is displayed while a print job is in progress, try canceling the print job. You can do this through the printer's control panel or by using the printer's cancel function on your computer.
Check for paper jams: If the "Please Wait" message is displayed while the printer is attempting to print, there may be a paper jam. Check the printer for any jammed paper and remove it if necessary.
If these steps do not fix the issue, there may be a more serious problem with the printer. In this case, it is recommended to contact Ricoh customer support or a printer repair technician for further assistance.

On most similar Ricoh models, the "replace PM kit" message will keep flashing until the PM kit is replaced, but this shouldn't hinder operation at all. The machine will keep running until one of the parts breaks down, which depends on how old everything is and how hard it is worked.
Basically, the flashing message is a reminder to replace the maintenance kit as a preventative measure, but it does not NEED to be done until something actually breaks.
