Is there a separate fuse for tweeters in Tannoy speakers? Both tweeters have stopped working. The main speakers work fine. The tweeters are in a separate housing attached to the top of the cabinet

SOURCE: Opening up Speakers

i it wood or plastic? if you cant easily pry the 'screen' in front off and there are no screws, your best bet is just to find a new speaker box to put new speakers in... only way to open it is to tear it apart, unfortunatly.. if you do decide to open it, CAREFULLY cut the screen off with a razor or exacto knife, once inside you'll know better what your dwaling wiht...good luck

You have to test them, either should work fine (as in use either pair) if that doesn't work connect one pair at a time and listen for the difference, one pair might be for factory midrange and other for tweeter.. there are two different wiring configurations...

SOURCE: my mordaunt-short avant 908i front left speaker

I had similar problems my tweeter was blowen and it had to be replaced... I actually blew the speaker many times using a NAD amp as there were spikes coming from the amp. I changed the amp to a Marantz PM7200 and have had no problems since.

SOURCE: i HAVE THE MTX TP112 SPEAKER, THE HORN TWEETER

It is a one piece horn need to replace the whole thing. These are not like normal PA speakers where the driver can be unscrewed from the horn lens and replaced.

I work in a church that has 4 passive speakers across the room, 3 out of 4 of them sound super muffled and n one of them sound perfect Ive tried switching power amps, there is no processing help?

I would say from your description that the tweeters are blown.
Can you take the speaker that sounds good and swap it out with one that sounds bad. If you do that and the good one still sounds good. You have a tweeter problem. And they would need to be replaced.

Tannoy v1 reduced brightness from one tweeter, diagnose? replace? honestly unsure if broken tweeter is the duller one or the brighter one, help?

I assume you have more than one of these speakers. If so simply remove the tweeters from the two speakers and swap them around. If the other speaker acts up then, you know the tweeter is faulty. However if it stays on the same speaker it's the crossover that's the problem.

Mackie SRM 450, the main speaker has stopped working but the tweeter is OK, there is nothing coming from the speaker at all, no hiss, or clicks.

It could be 2 things:

*Blown Speaker or,
*Fried power amp output stage of woofer, since this speaker operates as a bi-amplified system it has separate amps for woofer/tweeter...

Tannoy reveal speakers have lost treble

What you need to do is connect a 1.5 volt battery to the speaker(s) terminals for a split second. Put your ear to the tweeter at the same time (you might someone to help you do this). If the tweeter "pops" it works, if not you might have blown them. The best way would (to be certain) is to remove the tweeter from the crossover inside the unit.
Tweeters are the first thing to go when the speaker has been connected to an amp that is wrong for them or they have been run at high volume.

1999 jeep cherokee front speakers not working

Chrysler in their goal to make a buck put splices inside the rubber tube between the door and the a pillar on later Cherokee's. This is to spit the harness between the main door speakers and optional tweeters. The plugs for the tweeters will be there no matter if you have them or not. These connectors make the wires more susceptible to breakage. Have a stereo shop rewire your front speakers.

Replacement tweeters for Eyris 1

If any new readers are seeking the same advice, then as at Feb 2016, replacements are available from Real Electronics in the UK, 08452 307 747 - this info from the service line at Tannoy. £63.21 + VAT + delivery. Part no 7900 0621

Much of the advice above is not applicable to the Eyris, folks seem to be posting generic solutions.

Unbolt the hex bolts at the rear of the tweeter assembly. With a screwdriver or similar, push the threaded rods forward to move the front portion of the tweeter housing free from the cabinet. The amount of flexibility in the cables may vary, and some users may have to remove the terminal block (hex bolts again) on the rear, and remove the acoustic wadding to gain flex in the cables.

There are three terminals on the tweeter, with push-fit spade connections. Green for Earth, red/black for signal. Disconnect these, pull tweeter forward, remove threaded rods.

Reassembly is the reversal of removal. Ensure all cables go in same places, etc. etc.

I brought a pair of tannoy sensys dc1 bookshelfs a couple of years back and always thought i needed an extra cable for the super tweeter as i saw wires for it else where. but lately as i went to sell them...

On the images on Google for them there are no extra wires. Where are the wires on them? Do all the drive units work?
If the wires are for the super tweeter. Then looking around at the Google images it should be possible to unscrew the 4 screws holding the tweeters on top and you should be able to push the wires back inside the unit, if they are not connected to anything. Or at least see where they do connect.

My Tannoy Reveal 6D Monitors are only outputting sound from the tweeters. I'm looking for troubleshooting suggestions.

I still suggest calling Tannoy, They are usually very reasonable and will give you a fair price to service a very good product
