No, Deep Fryers are dangerous so cords are kept purposely short to prevent accidents. Also 1800 watts draws a lot of amps, so extending the cable can cause the cable to heat up. Move the fryer to an outlet, or have a new outlet installed where you want the fryer. Your island would benefit from extra built in sockets.

The Presto 05450 cannot be repaired. Normally it works or stops. Is it cutting off by over loading the house circuit ? It is 1,500 watts, which is a large load for some circuits.
