SOURCE: I Bought a Goodmans 250Gb Digital Freeview box in
As it's only May, I would take it straight back to the shop and demand a new one/alternative.
If it is bust, and it's in warranty, I certainly wouldn't try and fix it as you may invalidate the warranty by opening the case to check wires etc.
SOURCE: How do I retune my goodmans television for
You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.

SOURCE: Bought second hand goodmans DGB3 freeview box, but
You must mean the GDB3, Goodmans never made anything called a DGB3.
There's nothing you can do Tony, you've bought a dud.
The GDB3 sold new for under £15 in many outlets and I bought two of them for £10 each; at that price it's not designed to be repaired and failures when under warranty are just binned and replaced by the retailer/manufacturer. Even a replacement remote control costs more than the box originally cost.
You've been unlucky and bought unwisely on this occasion, but don't let it put you off Goodmans in general as they're generally more reliable than many others at the same price level. Don't buy another used Freeview box though as there are many which are out of date and incompatible with the latest Freeview technical standards. You can still buy new boxes for under £20 if you shop around.

There does not seem to be a fix for this at this time and the software version may need to be updated. My set is the same...takes a long time to warm up and encode. Once its warm its perfect slow to tune but perfect with signal levels 63 to 78% the picture is stable and error free across all channels. One dead pixel in a 3 year old panel not too bad.
