Have forgot the password on my Kindle how do I install a new one

The wifi password is the password installed in the router that allows any and all wireless devices to connect to your wireless network. Unless this Kindle is the only wireless device you have, then you probably know the password, since it was used on all the other devices as well. Even if you don't know it, you may have it. If the router was from the ISP, and you didn't change anything, the wifi password may be written on the base of the router. If you DID change the password and forgot it, as long as you can access the router setup,. you can go in and create a new wifi password.

You should have an email address associated with your Amazon Kindle account. Go to Amazon dot com and attempt to log on to your Kindle account. When you put in a wrong password it will reject it but there should be an option that says something like *forgot password?* You might have to enter a wrong password a couple of times before this option becomes available. Click on it and it should take you to a page where you can reset the password which means they will email you a new temporary one or something like answering your special questions right that you can use one time to log onto your account. Once on, you can create a new password and do your bank details changes.

You just need to go to Amazon.com and they have a password reset function available. Change the password for the Kindle account there.

You may have to unregister the kindle and then re-register it. You will lose everything.

That sounds like a call Kindle help. I noticed when I tried it on my paper white that I needed my old pass code to set a new one. Online Amazon.com, your acct, Manage your Kindle, help desk near bottom of list on left side.

When I got my Paperwhite I had the option to set up a password or not; I did not. This kindle should be dirrerent from past kindles you may have had. Try giving it a new password. If that doesn't work; contact customer service and they can clear the forgotten password and you can start over again. You can still go through the rest of the set up while you wait for them to call back.

Kindle uses your amazon account password, if you forgot that you need to contact amazon, if you found this kindle you might consider calling amazon.com and return it to the rightful owner. Most people that make these request ether found a kindle, totally forgot there amazon.com information.
