SOURCE: What kind of power source/adapter do I use for my Casio tone bank

Take a close look at where the power source adapter plugs in, there should be something written which will indicate the voltage requirements, write them down, for example it might indicate +plus or minus 12 volts DC at 400 Milliamps. Take the info you write down to Radio Shack and they should be able to sell you a universal power adapter that will work. You should have a power on-off switch some where on the unit.

SOURCE: NO power to my Casio CTK 671

OFTEN the power connector in the synth get broken from the circuit board connections.

ALSO verify the adapter is actually putting out the correct voltage or slightly above it..

SOURCE: NO power to my Casio CTK 671

First verify with a voltmeter that the adapter IS producing the voltage it is supposed to.

The cords and internals of these often fail.

Anything beyond that will require servicing. One could oppen the unit and look for bad solder or cracked board NEAR the power input jack.

SOURCE: need power cord for Casio CA-100 Tone Bank

You need a 9 volt DC adapter with at least 850ms (0.85 amp) capabilty with the center the minus polarity. A good place to find thes is thrift shops, but DO be careful that the center is the MINUS polarity.

High frequency noise

"Overdrive Channel: high frequency noise as the gain and volume are increased."

This is the expected result, you are experiencing feedback. Try turning the "Contour" knob all the way to the left and turn down the tone knob on your guitar.

Casio keyboard won't power on

If batteries or power adapter does not power up the keyboard...possibilities are...if it has a fuse inside or fusible link check it.replace if blown.Another possibility is power component has a short. maybe from constant movement of power plug into keyboard.sometimes just by inserting the plug and wiggling it can solve the issue..having this fixed by a technician can cost a lot of money.but,if your keyboard`s value is less than the cost of fixing it,might as well replace your instrument.

Keyboard not powering up. Want to change the fuse/s. Don't know where fuse is located.

There probably is NOT a fuse and usual cause is problem with the adapter or the power connectors. Broken solder of the connector in the keyboard is common. Broken cords on the adapter is common as well.

I have a two way peavey p115 speaker system and audio has stopped coming out of the high frequency driver . I tested the high frequency driver with a multi meter and it is fines.I also have a working...

Testing the driver with an ohmmeter is incomplete test. Sometimes the magnets break off the drivers rendering no sound. Sometimes the voice coil shorts and if you don't interpret the ohmmeter readings correctly you can overlook a faulty driver. Remove the horn and look for damage such as lost magnet from the back. Also the peavey cabs have a protection circuit so if you did not try another speaker to the same wores going to the driver, it may be the Polyfuse on the protection circuit or other components.

Crate TX50 DB has noisy DSP circuit when rotating the DSP pot!

When you are changing the DSP effect on the fly, static or noise is NORMAL !!! The DSP is changing the data and having to recalculate on the fly and doesn't mute itself while doing so which results in "garbage sounds out".

The bypass setting should NOT get any tone UNLESS you have feedback going on. If your guitar can "hear" the speakers in the amp, the strings can vibrate and get feedback going.

Unplug the guitar and see if high freq tone is still there on bypass. If the tone is in the musical range, then there is a problem if nothing is plugged in. If it is a VERY weak, very high frequency tone, this may be the digitizing noise from the DSP. On bypass, the audio is likely to still go through the DSP, just not be modified by it.

My Casio CTK 4000 has a 12v power going into it, turn it on, everything powers up, but when keys are pressed there is no sound. It shows the keys being pressed, but still produces no sound. Any help...

If you have a headphone jack, try listening with the phones to see if there is sound. Many of the synths have a way to defeat the line outputs and/or onboard speakers. Sometimes the headphone jack disables the speakers...

Not knowing your configuration regarding external amp/speaker makes it difficult to give further help.

Sometimes there is a mute button and of course the volume control.

Do look at the volume control and see if it MIGHT have been damaged as it likely passes the audio directly. The results of the test with headphones though is important!
