Question about Simpson Washing Machines

1 Answer

Simpson eziset 550 won't start. No lights working. Tested on off switch, ok. Power supply ok. Is it one of the circuit boards? No lights or beeps. is there a fuse hidden somewhere?

Tripped off power supply when it stopped mid cycle. Reset power but not working now no power and no lights

Got given our deceased neighbours washing machine which is fairly new. It had been sitting in the garage for over 2 yrs and now we go to use it and no power or lights showing up at all.

    Ok great thanks
I've only just got time to look at it properly.
I might remove it and bake it to see what happens then

SOURCE: Hi, my simpson eziset 550

5 beeps with the 3 temp lights flashing means lids not closed. or lid switch not working

i just fixed this problem. the magnet in the lid had come loose. I undid the two screws on the side of the lid put the magnet back where it should sit then i poured candle wax over it to hold it in place and working fine now.

SOURCE: Lid lock light beeping continuously and flashing

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question!!!!

I have a Simpson Eziset 550 and I press the power button and get nothing

Either power on/off switch is faulty or main control board has a fault and may have to be replaced. You need a test meter and fault finding knowledge to trace the fault. Probably best you call out a service person.

Simpson eziset 550 wont power up the power point definitely works and I have tested the machine on off switch

There is a fuse on the circuit board for this model. It just pops out of its holder. They go all the time.

Replace with a 4Amp Slow blow fuse.

They cost about $10 from Simpson (Electrolux), or you\'ll get a box of 6 or so from Dick Smith for a couple of bucks

I had the same problem before, but removing the kink in drain hose does the trick. Maybe yours is more complicated but try it.

My Simpson eziset 650 won't complete a cycle it

The machine has detected that it's taking too long to fill, check the hose filters in the inlet solenoids (remove the hoses and you will see them) make sure your taps are turned up, If all seems ok then you have work inlet solenoid(s) and will need to replace 1 or both of them depending on if it does it on both hot and cold cycles.
