You have to reset the drum count on the printer after you replace the drum. Call dell tech support they will not charge you for help resetting the drum even if you are not in warrenty.

Your electrical contacts in the carriage assembly are either defective or dirty...try using an electrical connection cleaning solution. If the cleaning does not work. There are companies that sell used units that are very affordable compared to new.....I recommend www.getthatpart.com ....They have these carriages used for cheap and they guarantee their items and sell 1000's of parts....You can give them a call and a live person answers the phone to help with your questions.. highly recommended!

Hi Connie,

If you take out all the toners you will find a contact at the bottom where the chip from the cartridges touch , these three springs work loose.

If you notice them loose, you need to take the black clip out split it and solder them back on; that will sort the problem out.

Error code 093-921

If you are seeing any or all of these error codes on the Dell 3130cn Laser Pinter that there is a Firmware Update to address this issue. However, the firmware cannot be applied when there is an error present, so first try reseating all toners. You may need to repeat this several times before errors are cleared. Once error-free, download the Firmware from the Dell Support website and apply.

  1. Verify all packaging has been removed from the printer cartridge. This includes any tape or red handles. Also verify the toner cartridge is properly installed.
  2. Remove the toner cartridge and clean the toner housing of any excess toner with a clean dry cloth. Reseat the toner cartridge when finished cleaning.
  3. Check that all toners are Dell branded and not refills. Take note of all PPIDs (Serial Numbers). Check that all toners are for the correct model
    • If any toners are non Dell, swap with another toner
  4. Run diagnostics on the toner cartridge sensor.
    1. Power off the printer.
    2. Hold down the and buttons on the printer and power the printer on.
    3. Release your fingers from the keys when the message Diagnosing... appears.
      Customer Mode and ESS Diag display.
    4. Press the button until IOT Diag appears and press the button.
      On the LCD, Digital Input appears.
    5. Press the button until Digital Input appears and press the button.
    6. Press the or button until DI-8 for (yellow) DI-9 for (Magenta) DI-b for (Cyan) and DI-a for (Black) appears and press the button twice. It is only necessary to run the diagnostic on the toner cartridge to which the error applies
    7. Open the front cover. (Figure 1)

    8. Remove and replace the toner cartridge. Every time the toner cartridge is reseated, the counter on the Operator Panel will increase by 1.
      • If the diagnostic does not increase by 1 then replace the toner cartridge.

Error code 093-932

Print a Parameter Setting Report.
Power off the printer.
Close all printer covers and doors.
Hold down the and buttons on the printer and power the printer on.
Release your fingers from the keys when the message Diagnosing... appears.
Customer Mode and ESS Diag are displayed.
Press the button to select Customer Mode.
Press the or button until Parameter appears and press the button.
On the LCD, the Parameter menu appears.
Press the or button until Print appears and press the button.
The Parameter Setting Report prints.
Press the Cancel button to stop the test.
Reseat the toner cartridge based on the error: Yellow = (0093-930) Magenta = (093-931) Cyan = (093-932) Black = (093-933).
If error persists after reseating the cartridge replace the cartridge.

Dell 962 printer showing an error message "right cartridge incorrect". It printed from that cartridge for the past few months. Now nothing. I had to take it out to get the printer to print at all. Now only...

If this is a Dell 093-962 try the following -
  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. Reseat the toner mentioned in the error. For instruction on toner removal and installation for your specific system please check the User Guide.
  3. Once toner is re-seated, power the printer back on and check for error.
  4. If no error reported try printing a Settings page.
    • Press the Menu Button on the printer.
    • Highlight Reports/List and Select.
    • Highlight System Settings or Printer Settings (depending on your specific printer model) and Select.
    • The Report should now Print.
  5. If the 093-862 error recurs please try another toner from a working Dell Laser Printer of the same model or from stock (If available).
  6. If the error recurs with a working or 2nd toner please confirm that the Toners used are Dell Branded.
  7. If non Dell toners are used please ensure that you have the 'Non Dell Toner' option turned on.
    • Press the Menu or Info button on the Printer Operating Panel.
    • Scroll down until Admin Menu is Displayed and Select (If there is no admin menu go to next step).
    • Scroll down to Maintenance and Select.
    • Scroll down to Non Dell Toner and Select to turn it on.
    • Re-start Printer for the setting to take effect.

Error indicates a problem with the Cyan toner cartridge/developer. Try the following steps:
Power off the printer/MFP and open the toner access door. Reseat all of the toner cartridges. Power on the printer/MFP again and print a test page. Did the error message return? HOW DO I FIX THE ERROR 004-332...???

1. Reseat and clean the 4 toner cartridges and verify the orange plastic covers have been removed.
2. Reseat the toner cartridge carousel position. By doing the following:
Lift the handle of the first available toner cartridge or toner cartridge attempting to be installed and remove the toner cartridge.
Close the front cover. Power off the printer. Power on the printer.
An LCD message Insert <toner color> Toner appears. Open the front cover. To reinstall the toner cartridge, align the arrows on the cartridge with the corresponding arrows on the printer, guide the cartridge in until it snaps into place, and then push down the right lever to lock the cartridge in place. Close the front cover. The toner cartridge carousel rotates to the correct toner position.
3. Verify the developer rotor frame is not bent. If it is bent then the printer should be replaced, it would not be cost effective to replace the frame.
4. If it is not bent. Open the front door, try to rotate the carosel. It should NOT rotate. If the rotation is rigid and feels broken, then the printer should be replaced. If it rotates smoothly, the developer latch should be replaced. If the carosel does not rotate but still gives the error the rotor control board should be replaced.

Yellow toner senser not responding

Toner sensor is located in the seat of the toner cartridge, and signal from it is transferred via the drum unit to the contacts on the sides of the drum unit and through them to the printer.
It sometimes happens, that these contacts, either the ones on the sides of the drum unit, or the ones inside the printer, get dirty and have poor electrical contact, giving this kind of message.
Try to reseat the toner cartridge in the drum, clean the contacts and re-insert the drum.

After installing a new toner cartridge in my HP Laserjet 4Plus, I have an error code 14 no toner cart and cannot print.

1. Reseat the cartridge. Try a new or know good cartridge. If OK, stop.

2. Check the Hi Volt contacts on the cartridge for damage. If the contacts are dirty or damaged, clean the contacts after the repair.(This is especially important if the cartridge is recycled.) If OK, stop.

Before going further, evaluate the cost effectiveness.

3. Replace the Hi Volt Power Supply. If OK, stop.

Error code 14 "no tuner cart"

14 NO EP CART Message
The printer detects the presence of the Toner Cartridge and the
level of toner present in the cartridge through the condition of the
ANTIN signal. The ANTIN signal becomes part of the serial data
stream used to communicate with the DC Controller (see Figure
7-5 for cartridge components). Troubleshoot the 14 NO EP CART
(or INSTALL TONER CARTRIDGE) message as follows:
1 reseat the Toner Cartridge. Try a new or known good Toner
Cartridge.
2 Check the High Voltage Contacts for damage. If the contacts
are dirty or damaged, clean the contacts after the repair.
3 Replace the High Voltage Power Supply.
4 Check and reseat the HVPS cable.
5 Replace the DC Controller

Cycle power, try cleaning the CTD (ADC) sensor and toner full sensor. This is what Xerox has to say about the NVRAM failure: On the front panel, press the key labeled i to view information about the error. Record the error code number. Turn off the printer. Reseat the fuser. Reseat the imaging unit. Reseat the toner cartridges. Turn on the printer. If the error continues to be displayed contact service.
