SOURCE: Can't get pass the logo screen

OK, this happened to me just yesterday, and I fixed it. Here's what you need to do.

1. Connect your iPAQ to your PC. You don't need ActiveSync, but you do need to make sure that your PC can actually communicate with your iPAQ.

2. Go to where you extracted the ROM update files. It's probably at "C:\iPAQ\SP26263" or something like that.

3. Download a hex editor. Here's one: http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delphi/freeware/xvi32/xvi32.htm#download

4. Use the hex editor and open up H2B11020uo.nbf

5. Maximize the hex editor to full screen. Look at the right screen where it says "hp ipaq h1940 1.10.20 ENG". Fill up the top row with zeros. The words "hp ipaq h1940 1.10.20 ENG" will disappear.

6. Within "C:\iPAQ\SP26263", open up ROMUpdateUtility. It won't recognize your device (WHICH IS GOOD). Then you can reinstall the ROM update.

SOURCE: Where is the CMOS battery on an asus u50f laptop? I am stuck on the logo screen and need to reset

Try this site scroll down a bit:http://www.insidemylaptop.com/how-to-disassemble-asus-ux50v-laptop/
Have you tried to do a system restore? Maybe a "Cold Start", remove the AC plug, remove the AC plug, hold doen the on/off button for 10 seconds, replace battery, plug into AC outlet, re-boot. If that fails try again this time repeatedly tapping the F-8 key so you have options to restore/recovery etc.

HOW I FIXMY VIVORT

Hi, This is a problem in the BIOS my advice to you is get in touch straight away as you will always have problems! unless they are prepared to walk you through the settings in the BIOS. Be a happy PC owner & get this exchanged free of everything they should exchange the PC without any problems & they will pick up the present PC when they deliver the new one to you. I must add the blue screen is another problem with the Video card, Hence stick out for an exchanged PC it's their liability. Please leave me feed back: Malcolm Campbell, Thanks.

Startup repair

Please note all below options are at your own risk and only applies to ASUS Vivotab TF600T.

Option 1: From within Windows RT:
1. Select PC Settings .. General
2. Scroll down to options - a. Refresh your PC or b. Reinstall Windows (see NOTE below) c. Reset from recovery disk. (see Options 2 & 3 below).

Option 2: If you have a saved recovery disk on an usb pendrive:
1. Shutdown your tablet.
2. Connect the recovery disk to your usb port on the keyboard.
3. Keep the volume down button pressed and power up your tablet.
4. Release the volume down button when the ASUS logo appears.
5. Recovery software on disk will start the recovery process.
6. Follow the prompts and choose your language / keyboard options.
7. Select Troubleshoot .. Advanced Options ..a. Refresh your PC or b. Reinstall Windows
NOTE: Selecting (b) will reset your PC to factory settings (so save all your data) and you'll also have to install all updates again - DO THIS ONLY AS A LAST RESORT!!!

Option 3: If you don't have a saved recovery disk:
1. Refer to below link and download the file vivort.rar (over 3.6 GB). Also read all relevant comments on that forum before you begin.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2165831
2. Insert a blank min. 8 GB usb disk in the PC you saved the file and open an elevated command prompt and enter 'diskpart' and then the below in this order:
a. list disk
b. select disk (no. of your usb drive only or wrong drive will get cleaned)
c. clean
d. create partition primary
e. select partition 1
f. active
g. format fs=fat32
h. assign
i. exit
3. Extract/Copy the files to the root of the USB drive, not in a folder.
4. Follow steps 1 to 7 in Option 2 above.

Hope this helps someone.
