I cannot find an anti reverse switch on a shimano sienna 1000 spinning reel....is it me or is there no switch?

The anti-reverse lever is under the body, right against the spool..its recessed a little to keep it out of the way and prevent accidental "switching".. I added a diagram...its number 8978

Hello! The washers fit on the shaft under the spool...Sometimes the line will "cone"on the spool and the washers allow an adjustment of the height of the spool on the shaft, allowing the line to wind evenly on the spool...Guru...............Saailer

How do you change from right hand wind to left hand wind on a Shimano Moocher 2000 fishing reel.

unscrew the 2 screws and change position of line guide, remove anti-reverse ratchet,flip it over and re-assemble.if you get stuck go online to fishingmag.co.nz and put the name of your reel in. regards barry.

SHIMANO FISHING REEL

The drag is set by turning the knob which secures the spool to the reel.

To cast, hold the line against the rod with index finger on right hand. Then flip the bail open which frees the line to come off the spool. The bail, when it gets to a certain point will lock open. When casting, release your finger on the line when the rod gets to 11 o'clock.

Flip the bail back by turning the reel handle -- the bail will pop back over the reel -- then you're ready to reel it in.

The bail is the wire-like device on the top of the reel.

There is probably a button/switch for turning anti-reverse on & off -- when on, this keeps the reel from turning backwards when force is applied to the line.

I think those are the highlights.
