You can purchase the channel faders directly from Mackie Service Dept., you can replace them yourself if you're good at soldering - HOWEVER, be advised that disassembling the unit to get at the faders to replace them will require a lot of time and patience if you've never done it before. If the faders are not moving smoothly, it's possible that the wrong type of cleaning spray was used on them and there's a possibility that they could stop moving and controlling sound.

Mackie 16.4.2.vlz pro. All the channel overload lights come on as soon as power is applied. Changing control/switch positions has no effect.

You probably have issues with caps in the power supply....I would check that first...open it up and look for buldging caps and replace any that you find....

The fx will stop working intermittently on my mackie cfx16, what could be the cause?

First thing to do is get a can of contact cleaner. Take off the knobs and spray it into the reostats below. Spray into all the switches and even into the sliders. Move everything back and forth - 0 to 10 (to clean them). If we're lucky, that will fix it.

Im trying to connect a peavey kb300 with a mackie micro series 1402-VLZ 14 channel mic/line mixer

The mixer is stereo and the amp is mono. The line level out of the mixer MAY overwhelm the KB2 regular inputs so try running the mixer into the PA input jack.

How can I set up my mackie 1402 mixer so I can have (2) monitor mixes

This unit has 2 AUX sends, both of which can be used as monitor mixes. The top controls on each channel determine the pre-fade level for each mix.

Conenct a cable from the AUX out (either 1 or 2) to an amp. The only restriction is that the level control is a knob rather than a slider.

If you have any other questions, please update this and I'll try to answer for you.

How can I hook up my ipod to the Mackie 1604-VLZ PRO? I'm not sure which control buttons, knobs or slides to use to to make it play. I plugged it into the "tape in (RCA)" jacks. I need help with the...

Easiest is to use a 1/8 inch stereo to 1/4 inch splitter cable (1/4 mono's) and plug into the tape input. Then use the tape level knob.

IF you want to use sliders, then plug the spliter 1/4 inch plugs into two channels and set the PAN controls for these to opposite ends and then you have to adjust two sliders to control the gain.

I need a new mains transformer for my Mackie 1402vlz3 mixer but can't locate on in the UK. NB 1402vlz, not 1202 vlz as per the product below. (Can't get 1402 on the categories). Where can I source one, or...

Your best bet is to contact Mackie directly for a distributor in the UK.

Hi, Model: Mackie 1604 VLZ PRO When using the control room monitoring, even if the corresponding "SOURCE" switch of the subgroup/main mix is disengaged, there is still small volume of sound. This is...

You may be getting a small amount of cross-talk. How high are the gain settings and sliders when this occurs? Also, can you describe the overall setup that you are using? I'll check the prints, but you should not be getting any volume unless the gains are maxed.

Odd channels go out 1,3,5.....

Unless you are in super humid environment, this is more likely a crack in the circuit board OR a bad connector on a ribbon cable. Also BROKEN or cold solder joint for a connector pin through the circuit board.

Good way to cause this with ribbon cables is to NOT distribute the load when pulling them off. Often the wires near the edge are stretched and make poor contact with the little forks that pierce the insulation.

CRC226 is a good product to use for contacts. Available at Home Depot in the electrical department. Blue spray can. Use sparingly.
